okie dokie lets try this again

    Monday:

Drove from NC to ga, met Bodean, got loaded didnt take any pics (i forgot) ran to the last min of my 14 to the loves in Christana, TN, fueled/parked for 10 hours

    Tuesday:

left real early in the morning, drove to Joliet, IL got there 1 hour before they closed (a day early too) got unloaded and made it to the pilot on 57 just south of ####cago. Fueled/parked for 10

    Wensday:

Left at 515am, drove to a home depot got some donage. I pulled right in and under the contractors awning thing and as i get out of the truck i hear "Oh WOW! 2 employees came out to see what all the noise and lights where at 6am

Got to the shipper at 8am. Had the 3 stooges load me, they wanted to put 3" and 8" coated pipe on the same level...they didnt know what it weighed they said "its just pipe its not that heavy we're putting everything we have on here...i put a stop to their mess and got it a good as could be

    Here's the load 78,500 gross.

Then scaled at the worlds worst pilot, you have to back off the cat scale...theres only 20 feet in front of the scale WTF!

Then i ran my butt off to the end of my 14 again, should have made it to al, but only as far as the last pilot on 57 in TN/parked for 10

    Thursday: hello of a day

Got up early, drove south an hour fueled at the loves i should have been able to make it to had the 1000000 morons in nashville not pluged traffic up (50 miles of LOW...NOT 1st gear (that was to fast) LOOOOW.

Made it to the receiver at 8 barely took a little shortcut to make it happen

Got unloaded and even saved a employee from haveing a 3000lb pipe land on his head. Forklift went up to fast and a big pipe rolled under the forks and my pipe stake coaght it BARLEY! Had i not put them on, it would have landed right on his head, scared the crap out of him

I was in and out of there in 1 hour.

    Then headed south

while going south on 59 in AL, i see a truck on the shoulder...going backwards...:biggrin_2554: so i look to my left and see a fresh car sitting in the median faceing the wrong way (i figure he saw it happen, stopped to see if they were ok but didnt want to walk back so he was going back up? i donno)

So i look to my left, left lane was clear accept for 1 car about 3/4 - 1/2 mile back, i put my turn signal on....let it flash a few times as i recheck the mirrors all clear and i move over, car is still way back there.

I look in front of me at the truck still going backwards, then over to see if the lady got out her car yet, and i see a car FLY up my butt in the mirror it was that car, then i see him nose dive (he slammed on his brakes) didnt hit me (i was thinking he was just a typical 4 wheeler had to run up my butt to let me know im not welcome in "his" lane. (NOTE: this all happend in the matter of a few secounds) after slamming on the brakes he WAS in control, he COULD HAVE just stay ware he was but noooooo, he wanted to show he was mad, so he tries to stratle the should 2 foot wide, right side wheels on the road, left side in the muddy grassy median...then he takes off into the median right towards this womans car thats in the median!:biggrin_2555: the secound he got on the shoulder i started to move right so as to give him the lane rather then have him flip in the ditch...but i didnt get but 1 foot over when he took off into the median at 65 and never hit the brakes, looked like he just wanted to drive along side of me in the median....THEN he sees her car and swerves YET AGAIN in the WRONGE direction (towards on comming traffic) manages NOT to hit her, then turns back towards our side and finally gets stuck about 3 feet short of comeing back onto our side of the interstate.......

I was going to stop and take his cell phone and smash it, because surely thats the ONLY thing that could have been distracting this guy to the point where he sped up ALLOT and ran up my butt....but since i KNEW he'd say somehow it was my fault and i KNEW i'd end up putting my winch bar up is ### i decided that since he didnt hit me, the other car, or anything else, didnt flip over or do any damage to his car other then his newly brown drivers seat and all the mud on his car and he ovbiously wasnt hurt i just kept going as did everyone else that commented on the cb about his wonderfull driving skills......

so just in case that didnt make sence. I was in the left lane for 100 yards to give a truck on the shoulder room. Guy doing way over the limit almost runs up my butt, then decideds to go joy rideing in the median and almost kill someone....who knows what he was doin in there but it sure as hell wasnt paying attention to driveing :biggrin_25513: Just shows how close you can come to being hit by an idiot while doing nothing wrong....

Anyway then i get to the shipper, and spend 30 min trying to find the RIGHT gate, 4 gates later and 4 gaurds telling me the wrong one i figure it out, grab my loaded Step, and secure it. Who ever designed the metal plates over the trailer axles should be shot! why isnt there a rub rail/stake pockets/spools? made this simple load a little harder.

Still got it down easy, hasnt moved at all.

I got 2 big transformers (no not the cool robot kind :biggrin_2557:) :biggrin_25523:

Here it is: 40,000lbs for both

then i headed west, was going to run out my 14 to deliver tomorrow and reload for the weekend...called customer no go, they want all 4 trucks at the little fuel stop waiting from them to escort us to the job site for the crane to unload us 8am monday.....####! :biggrin_25523:

so yep 860 miles 3.5 days to get there :biggrin_2559:

Oh well so i quit early tonight in Hammond, LA at the petro.

Guess i'll drive a few hours tomorrow and park, then saturday get to either the loves/j/TA 30 miles from the receiver and do a long 34. IF i wanted to i could be there sitting at 3pm tomorrow after noon and sit there till 7am monday :biggrin_25513: NO THANKS! I think 48ish hours is enough in one place :biggrin_2559:

I did GREAT on fuel today to! 7.07mpg over 556 miles at 78,000lbs not sure how that worked out but i did it! lol I fueled when i got here so i know its right i could barly fit 50 gal in to get a shower!:biggrin_25525: wheres my fuel bonus! :biggrin_2559:

Dispach was dispapointed the customer wouldnt take it early, i've done 2 short loads he wanted to get me a good weekend load, he said he'll have the planners get me something long to load monday with. Although this sucks, i wont complain it could be much worse. I've run 9.5 - 10.75 hours every day so far this week so i would have had hours issues with a long weekend load anyway. I'll just kickback and rest and hope for some serious miles next week. I'll figure out my miles from where i left off on saturday when i park.

this is a shorter version of the first post

short day, ran 406 miles, to ganado, tx threw in 50 gal and parked around 1pm. I stopped halfway here to add another chain, the front chain on #2 is pulling the piece backwards ( i couldnt run it straigh across due to the steel plates over the trailer axles, so i added another chaining pulling it forward to cancle out the other chain pulling back so now its just getting pulled down. it had moved 1/2 inch backwards didnt want it to move anymore:

I saw the way that chain was pulling on that piece of wood and was thinking about the bolts in there maybe pulling sideways. Glad you added another chain in the other direction. It's kind of amazing that those little angle brackets bolted on the units are enough to keep them secure...

I have to agree with alex94, that was the condensed??? Man, not sure I would have made it thru the original and I can't believe that you had the patience to post as much as you did. Good job and keep up the good work.

yea i was nervous about those bolts too thats another reason why i added the other chain to hold it in place. What you cant see in these pics and that you couldnt see in the pics i took, is there are bolts under this thing holding it down too, theres 8 Big bolts total per unit. The little one on the back is just to keep the cooling rack thing from shaking as it goes down the road.

Your welcome, thats exactly why i do this, when i was looking into trucking when i was younger and when i was looking to jump into flatbed i wanted to learn as much as possible about what i was getting into, pictures and videos always help.

I donno if youve checked out my YouTube Channel, but i make trucking videos too. If you have anything you want to see or any request for a video let me know.

    Thanks for reading along! :biggrin_25514:
