From what I know you do not get hit if you do not get your cdl as long as THEY send you home, if you quit you could be stuck with the bill. But do not quote me on this, if I've learned anything in my life its everyone lies when it comes to money, the best thing to do is have a recruiter send you a copy of the contract and read it over, heck you could even have an attorney look it over for you, oh and don't sign anything that you don't understand
Spacecoast Thanks this. -

Well, I'm all packed for my 23 hour bus ride to Ft. Worth tomorrow. I've got one medium sized duffel bag that houses 8 days of clothing, my sleeping bag and my backpack I'm using for a shower bag. It all fits and has wheels so its easy to carry. I woke up today full of excitement about starting down a new road in my life. It sure is a different career than Im used to, but diesel fuel is diesel fuel. In all actuality, airline jobs and trucking jobs are similar in the way you are scheduled and payed. So no surprises there, this time I'll be behind the wheel. Luckily, driving is something I'm good at and like to do. My dad is a trucker so I've tried to learn as much as I can without filling the cup if you know what I mean.
Well, I've got a bon voyage party tonight, but I will keep you all updated on my progress. -

If you sit and sign a contract to either work for one year or repay the amount on the contract, then you must do one or the other. It is no different thzn any other contract. If you cant do either, then do something else. The school is not free. I was with playmaker in training when he left. He had to make the decision he made. Trucking is seven days a week and takes a lot of work to get a hold on. It takes someone who wants it, not just someone who wants a job. I am out on my own now and I love it, but I still have a long way to go.
Njnoob Thanks this.
