Hi all,
Just talked to a recruiter and she sent me by email some infos for my review.
As I live near the NJ terminal, the only opening they have for recent grads is this LTL run for 5/6 days at a time and then home for few days.
Basically I wanted to run OTR but it looks like that there is no opening in my area (NJ).
Anyone with feedbacks? Any insights from you guys working that run?
Watkins seems to be a nice company!

The best experience a newbie can get is LTL work...You will hit so many docks you will be better at backing/docking in a month than many OTR guys that have been at it a year!....It's the most valuable and needed experience you can get...Just keeping asking for OTR, it'll happen for you but take the LTL work and hone your skills!!!!
SpaceShipOne and ismoniak Thank this. -

Do you usually assist unloading the trailer?
Thanks guys -
Sometimes yes, sometimes no....Many times it makes things move faster so if I find that to be the case, my ### is back there!!!

The work is easy. 70% of the time I only bring the freight to the tail of the trailer, the rest of the time it is unloaded for me. You get paid by the mile and per stop. Depending on my week with the amount of miles and stops the pay is anywhere from .55 to .75 cents per mile.
walstib Thanks this.
