I got an offer from my trainer too. He had one other truck he leased with another driver. Basically 2 trucks looking to move to 3.

I got excellent training but not a single extra dime that he said I would get from his own pocket for the hard work.

    I didn't expect it, so I wasn't disappointed when it didn't appear, and I didn't ask.

60k miles sharing a truck and it's impossible to not know what his financial situation was at home. He was making good money, but he was advanced up to his ears on his profits.

Again, excellent trainer. I turned down his offer... Too many "ifs" and questions.

I dont think you fully read what I wrote, my instructor ran 5 trucks at one time, he was down to 3..I left his truck a short while after getting my license to finish training with one of his other trucks, the guy who was training me...went to drive a brand new truck AS SOON AS HE GOT HIS LICENSE..just like what another guy offered me. He is a straight lease operator on that truck and has a driver running it, WHO NEVER HAD TO REPAY TUITION..he owns his other two trucks outright, they are older..

So imagine when I was offered the same thing, and a PRIME employee in a lower management level mentioned him to me and it was a wonderful opportunity..I was EXCITED..so when I argued my case, said person told me I had to pay, I am looking at my trainer, silently gesturing..and he said, go ahead..mention me, I dont care

So when I told said person what he said was in fact not allowed, in reality DID happen, he threatened to open an investigation, now think I am a putz if you will but that is NOT why I pursued this, I told him to please NOT do that, this conversation was about 25 minutes

The next day I talked to my FM, and we went around again, when I mentioned going up the chain, he put me on hold, came back and told me, in fact...I was correct, my trainer had "slipped through the cracks"..I told him straight up..please DO NOT GO AFTER my trainer, he assured me they would not..again, I try to be honorable and this wasnt about getting someone it was about, you tell me this, I see this, dont tell me you cant, its sitting alongside me..

when they told me they finally understood my confusion and being pissed, I dropped it..why do I mention it ?, at the time I was PISSED and it factually happened..don't believe everything you see and hear, be prepared for setbacks, as far as the money, we never made running teams anywhere near what was said, slow time of year?...probably and I already alluded to that...im not freaking out or trashing them, I LIKE the company but I am being honest about what happened

Pretty sure I met you in the cafeteria, didnt I, you were with ORD ?
you are the Bob Marley wannabe ?...lol I might be wrong, only kidding

and thanks all for not attacking me, there is a loyalty at PRIME and thats because they try hard to do the right thing, I am giving my honest experiences here because it ISNT perfect and I think that you should have all the info, If you are heading into PRIME, you may not want to hear what I am saying, I know the feeling..

But something I say may help you to ask a question, get clarification..I would tell you...ASK QUESTIONS, raise your hand in the appropriate class and ask in front of everyone.."can you list for me every single cost associated with getting into a lease truck, a company truck, when my truck breaks down and its a warranty issue, who pays for the tow initially, do I have to absorb that cost and wait for reimbursement, wouldn't it be easier for the company to absorb that cost and then be repaid by the manufacturer"?

I was there 6 months and observed a lot, I hope to help someone avoid what I went through, knowledge is power..I am not kidding you if I had to do it again, I would tape record conversations and tell them I am because I need clarity and consistency or ask for things in writing...lol..I would probably get thrown out

I've been around here a long time and believe me, they are famous for changing policies and rules at the drop of a hat.
Back when FL first came out with the Coronado a guy got his lease payout and went over to Springfield FL and bought one of them. When he brought it over to the yard to lease it on they told him he should have checked with them first because it's too heavy and they won't let him do it. I was standing there looking at the truck when he came out and told me all this. I asked him what he was going to do and he wasn't sure. He drove off and I swear about 2 minutes later the exact same model truck pulled up with Prime stickers all over it. The guy had to have passed it on the way out. I often wondered what happened to him...probably just kept goin after seeing that.

Thats what I mean, it truly seemed that way to me after awhile..I really find that troublesome and I will respectfully point it out...

I drove with guys who would talk the company down all week, say they sucked, on their facebook page, they suck..

I dont think they suck and If I like the company I will call them out, for their sake and their reputation, they should really try to be consistent..I have been told its a joke to try but, I am being honest

Don't join the military, or get employed in any other industry segment. You'll find the same thing.
