I found a great line in a book I am reading Happiness is a Serious Problem by Dennis Prager "Human dissatisfaction is what makes personal improvement possible"(Prager). I have been feeling dissatisfied with my current job as a teacher. I mostly understand that the lack of growth and the constant negativity is the result. When I read that line it made me feel better. Happiness requires a lot of work and I feel better knowing that being dissatisfied is in fact a good thing. I hope that others realize this. "Indeed, anything that becomes better does so as a result of previous dissatisfaction"(Prager). Feel free to provide any input on this topic. I am sure we all deal with this issue as we struggle through the journey of life.

If this is true, you will be completely amazed at the level of personal improvement you will accomplish if you become a truck driver.

Once one realizes his/her unhappiness is a real problem, and they can't take it any more, and they know what they can do to change the situation, they will gain hope and feel motivated to take up the challenge. That's my opinion... and my experience. I had been unhappy with my life, my work for many, many years. Found trucking to be one of the biggest changes I could have done and it brought me real happiness. :yes2557: However, I am not saying what worked for me would work for everybody else. Each one must find what would make them happy and what can and cannot be changed to accomplish that. Good luck. :biggrin_25519:

That is SO true about what you said. Being dissatisfied with the DISSATISFACTION is a Good thing! It moves you to make changes that help create your own happiness. Things do become better in your life when you ACT on it. I learned this early in life and ironically...so happy that I did! :)biggrin_25517: )
...I am also fortunate to find a partner in life who is like a duck. All the bad stuff just rolls off his back. Amazing!

Every time we fall (and everyone does), the trick is to get back up, brush yourself off and get back to whatever it was that you were doing. So crazy, I was just telling Ron today. I am like that lead character in Apocalypto, Jaguar Paw who just keeps getting back up NO matter what! The JOY that comes from finally accomplishing whatever goal you are setting out to do is JUST amazing.

Here is another aspect I liked from the book " Although images of perfection in people's personal lives can cause unhappiness, images of perfect societies-utopian images---can cause monstrous evil"(Prager). In this industry they certainly attempt to paint the utopian image of the truck driver out on the beautiful roads of America. Nothing wrong with it I suppose since many will enjoy those views in their future, but wonder how many drivers on here are having complications with this industry because the reality did not match that amazing photo? "On the other hand, without images of a better society we would have little reason to hope for a better world"(Prager).
