D-Day has arrived! After a few conversations with my trainer we have an agreed upon meeting point. Oakwood, IL. He's already offered me a free microwave, evidently his wouldn't fit so he purchased another. With space at a premium I guess I'll take it and send it home with my S.O.

I was amazed that I could still pack 6 days worth of clothes, U.S. Army issue Arctic sleeping bag, and a pillow in my U.S. Army duffle bag. Boots will be worn, running shoes, shower shoes, tossed under drivers seat as per instructions from trainer. Winter coat, rain jacket will be put somewhere I'm sure. Only thing else is my laptop case with all my "office" supplies and my bag with various toiletries.
Thats right, I will be washing my arse!
We decided I did not need to bring my map, gps, no need for redundant items.
I think I'm ready, I'm sure I forgot something important but I can pick up about anything on the road, and I do mean anything!
It seems my trainer is from the great state of New York, so hopefully I'll get home before Independance Day. lol Really though, I have hopes of being done ASAP, this isn't my first goat rope! Later.....Be Safe! -
Good luck keep us posted i will be in Cartersville March 5 to start my school

Ok, the GPS I get, will just be in the way if the trainer has one, if they are the same brand, I would ask if he can back his up and give you the backup file for the addresses he already has. The map though, I get the trainer has one, but what if you don't get by home when you get your truck. There is no way to know which terminal you will get your truck at, and they have to route you to the closest terminal or by the house for you to get it then.
That is just my opinion though. Can someone explain otherwise why you would leave it.ricrey99 Thanks this. -
Best of luck ricey lol. See you soon bud

My thoughts exactly, my hopes are to get routed through the house when I get my truck, if thats the case, I can always pick up anouther trucker atlas, paper edition, to get me home. I was thinking about taking GPS anyway to mark p/u and delivery address while out with him. Thanks for the thoughts though!

If you have room in your duffle.......just don't pull it out and piss off the trainer who said not to bring it. Your in his house and work place, his rules apply. Put them in a small box that will fit in the bottom of your duffle and just leave them there. I'm sure he has a trining regiment he adheres to.
