You also have to rememeber that he has an "engine brake" not a real jake, so the wear is very little seeing they are basically pointless

I have tried to look at their web site and didnt find any rent info, will try to call them tomorrow because they closed for a holiday, do you know whats the montly rates to rent it.

We use to hook up a jake switch to the shift tower. They still have those right?
It was just a finger tip away. Course we didn't cruise many TS much w/ a load of logs.

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You use the engine brake all the time to save on your brakes but use the clutch so there's not too much torque? I just slow down gradually and save the Jake for the mountains. Maybe that's wrong but that's the way I was taught back in the 60's-70's before any schools were around.
