After reading so many of these posts I think a lot of the new people will turn and run. I am returning to trucking after being away for 10 years. I loved to drive. I did flat bed nation wide for Systems. Not the best of jobs, but tons of experience. Then I ran reefer for a grocery chain for 6 more years. I guess I was fortunate. I went through all the hard ships of being on the road, then got a good in town job.

The problem I am finding now is most companies don't really care if you have the experience, just recent driving time. I went back to a driving school and passed in the top 1%, got my CDL back and all endorsements. Looking at the big companies who will take someone new (or old without recent time) would scare you to death. I personally am talking to some local companies who want local drivers and will hire, especially if you just completed a driving school. So unless that falls through I will stay off the long haul road. been there done that.

Just seems a little discouraging about all the problems these guys are having. I understand the rules have gotten much tighter due to insurance companies, but everyone says they are crying for drivers. then you are told the only way you can drive is to go to work for someone like Swift to get you foot back in the door.

Didn't know what subject to put this under, so I just replied to you Welcome. and thanks again,

If you love to drive just keep trying, something will usually come up.
