High school student. Pretty much a teenage bum before starting driving back in 1999, being broke and unemployed may have been a better life

Wow some of you have had some interesting careers, I started as an industrial mechanic/straight truck driver right out of high school, then I got my class A cdl. All the men in my family on my dads side were truck drivers and or owner operators so I've been in trucks since before I could remember, guess I fell right into place.

I started out of high school learning to drive a truck with the old man. Got offered a fulltime position as a firefighter/emt, jumped off the truck and went to work. Then I joined the Army as a Medic, served in Iraq, got wounded and retired. Got out and decided to take up trucking like my old man had taught me. Tried to get back in the fire service but my injuries still linger and prevent me from working full time (I am still proud to have been a soldier and would do it over again in a heartbeat).
I am happy being on the road and driving my truck.TamedCynic Thanks this.
