A deceleration rate greater than 7mph will trigger a monitoring device (if the truck is equipped) that will draw attention to yourself

The company can actually set the standard to where the OER engages. It's a cool thing but has some flaws. -
My company jus started writing us up for it......can't have more than 4 within 1000 miles driven.

If you have a series of them in an indicated time frame, it shows the company that you could possibly be habitually tailgating, and corrective actions may be warranted.LSAgentOZR, STexan and otherhalftw Thank this. -
It could indicate you're going down a lot of steep hills and you drive carefully.
I'm glad I don't have to put up with a company thats full of ####.
I guess I don't play well with others?Last edited by a moderator: Feb 25, 2012

I've had 2 hard braking situations in the last 3 years, both alerted safety, who alerted dispatch, who called me.
If you're having so many the company constantly calls you about them....there's a problem with your driving habits.
Couple of years hauling paper roll stock will break those bad habits....DrtyDiesel and STexan Thank this.
