The instructor was from romainia had a very very heavy accent. And I never made it to my CDL test with ffe. I did however go get my CDL on my own. Passed it first try. So you tell me what's going on?

I went to orientation at FFE about 11 years ago. The instructor was talking about bringing in trailers and unloading them to put on another trailer. i raised my hand. All I said was " why dont you just switch tractors". They didn't like that. They pulled me into there little office back there and told me they didn't want me there anymore. I said "OK". I don't get paid to unload trailers. "Screw that".

What they did'nt like is they did'nt think of the idea themselves. It took someone smarter to suggest that idea.

I worked there back in 2001 to 2003, they were a good company to me back then. it was actually my first company. my first trainer, we got into a fist fight in nevada because he wouldnt ever take a shower and wanted stop in every porn shop from cali to new york and would lay in the back whomping his johnson and then sleep in the passenger seat and try to make me drive half of his hours plus mine. 2nd trainer was awesome he was great guy and he became a friend rather than just a trainer and when he took time off he would let me stay with him and his family because i lived 700 miles away. Knowing what i know 8 years later about companies and the industry, i wouldve stayed there. Im sure they have changed alot, but if nothing more, they should still be a good company for an inexperienced driver starting out. Get school, stay a year, and have exp, plus ref/dry exp. then you can go about anywhere.. Oh and yea, i did have to unload alot, but again, after 10 years of sittin on your arse, unloading the 50 Lbs boxes of meat is a great health benefit to a driver.

Oh and everybody complaining about a CDL Test, well, really a cdl is easiest part of trucking. Its only common sense, they are gonna make sure you get the cdl because then you will be a creation that they can mold into what they want. companies dont want old drivers who are set in there old ways, they want new ones and will probably take extra lengths to make sure you pass, if you dont pass a test i would have to say its probably nobodys fault but your own. The hardest part of getting a cdl is the Physical/Health part because that is medical related. This is why you have to take road test with companies, because ANYBODY can get a cdl, but ANYBODY cant drive. Sorry but its the truth...

ok maybe you miss understood me..... I went and got my cdl. I had absolutly no problems driving or taking any of my exams in or out of the truck. I never said the CDL test was diffacult. I said that I had a commiunication barrier with a ffe instructor that had a very hard time speaking english. But I do have my CDL and am moving on with my life. wish people would actually read what I write.

Things have not gotten any better with FFE! My Son-in-law went to their school, if that's what you want to call it, 4 weeks ago. He was told to study the cdl handbook from the dept of trans. He studied his ### off, took the permit test and passed it on his own. (My husband went though another school 8 years ago and it was nothing like this.) We knew of the "weeding out process" but FFE has taken it to a whole other level. They do not teach! You study the dot material basically pass it on your own. (He did say the driving instructor was awesome and receptive to his questions)My son-in-law went on to pass and obtained his CDL (which he paid for!) So he thought he would be going out with an instructor..... not so. He has been in a hotel for 10 days and still no driver trainer in sight. He was told it could be 3 more weeks of waiting and possibly start sleeping in an in a truck on the yard. One man told him he waited as my s-i-l did and is now waiting for a truck... he has been waiting for 3 weeks ( He's been at school for 8 Weeks). They are told their are "food trucks and vending machines" Taco trucks and Banquet dinners? Are you kidding me?Then they are given 30 minutes to run into Walmart get what they need or can take a cab back. ( Hell I've waited in line at Walmart for 30 minutes.) They are told they cannot leave the school, even on their own dime, and return because they will have to wait once again. Meanwhile he is paying for meals and other essentials out of his pocket, and another 3 weeks of this! FFE drivers told him to get out, the company is crappy (lack of a better word.) No straight answers from anyone at FFE!
He has a wife and 2 sons and no job . So far out of pocket it has cost him well over $800 not to mention the $3,900 for this fraudulent school. Our Opinion .... Stay away!!
