What's funny is when some driver not familiar with the area talks some smack to him and the other drivers will chime in to defend him and his food.

I haven't had very good luck with the food there, and parking is always rough there. If you don't get there before 8:00 PM, normally you're not going to get a place.

I may have to detour there next time I do a Home Depot run to McDonough. Just finished one and my dispatcher has another one lined up. I hope we can keep it up, pretty much guaranteed 2800 miles a week there and back to EP..

One of our contractors (years ago) was talking trash about engines, transmissions and horsepower. Somewhere in the conversation he said that the newest cutting edge technology was truck batteries that weighed NOTHING.

Yup, they weighed NOTHING AT ALL. He said that you had to bolt them in so the wind wouldn't carry them away.

A few months later I was in the Petro in North Little Rock- looking at the battery display. The newest deep cycle Truck Batteries were on a display rack. Optima Batteries. I read the literature and wanted to look at the display closer- I picked up the battery in the display rack... and burst into uncontrolled hilarious laughter. Because, the battery in the rack was for "Display Only" and it had nothing in it- no plates, no cells- just an empty plastic case to look at. It only weighed a FEW OUNCES and I remembered the driver who seemed to know everything about trucks telling us about the newest high tech batteries that had to be held down so the wind wouldn't blow them out of the battery box...

Well, hubby was going to take his 10 hour sleeper berth time at the NLR Maverick terminal, so I decided to meet up with him and we went to the Petro. This was our 5th time of going there and 3rd time getting the buffet. I got very sick for a couple of hours starting about an hour later with my blood pressure staying up (so more than likely not an allergy) and a fever and not able to leave the bathroom for the couple of hours. So, I am guessing that there might have been some bad food on the buffet. Think I will just eat snack foods from the other part of the Petro instead since never have trouble with THAT food.

Left a message on hubby's voice mail asking him if he got sick as well especially since I am pretty sure it was not an allergy problem.

It wouldn't have been a customer with dirty hands due to a lack of washing them would it?

Could have been, just never know. Hubby and I are now going to go elsewhere. We will try the BBQ place on Maybelline Road since it has been getting good reviews from other truckers. Otherwise, will stick with places that are tried and true.
