We do tarp, but rarely. If you're given a backload of steel, hay, or something else. Usually your tarps will stay stored. I had to lug mine around in the passenger seat, while I was under a van; but even that is rare. They only give us 4' tarps...so I don't see us hauling lumber loads.

yep, the west coast solo out of Augusta is sort of new, according to the terminal manager in Augusta. But...I foresee it becoming frequent. A lot of money to be made, by hauling the JDs out there. Hell...I'd do one every two weeks, if they'd let me. But we'll see how tough it is to get me back home.
hardrunner Thanks this. -
GI Jeff, any updates on your experience at Tennant? I'm out of KY and looking to make a move. I've got 9 years trucking experience with two companies and one year flatbed experience with my most recent employer. What would you say your average length of haul is and what do you estimate your bring home pay to be on average? Is there opportunity to do about 10 days out instead of the 14-18 days out? I'm used to being home on my weekends and my wife says she likes it that way, but could "adjust" for the right price.
