    lol

I honestly dont think Werner is any better than any of the other huge driver mill companys out there. I am sure it's better than the crooked steel haulers out here. I would have loved to go to Maverick or Melton. I know those two to be good companies.

I have been thinking of going to Falcon out of driving school, since they now recruit out of the one I'm going to go to. Do any of you have recent info on their dry van division? I can't find any recent posts on this.

Wow I should have checked this post more often. I guess an update is in order. I left Falcon after only 3 weeks. The pay was roughly 25% of what they offered (for a salaried position). Home time was all messed up, unless you lived in Laredo, but you had to live within 100 miles of the Lordstown plant to get this route. The schedules were screwy at best. 6 days to go one way and 2 days to get back. I had a death in the family, I was 60 miles away with 4 days to kill and they refused to let me go home. So I had to leave before a bad attitude turned into an arrest warrant!!!

I have since gone to AD Transport Express out of Canton Michigan. Altho I am new with them so far I love it here. The money is good. The runes at times are tight, but thats just another day at the office. The operations staff is amazing, I think I found the carrier I will retire from. Sorry I havent been watching my own topic. Entirely my own fault. Thanks for everyones input and thoughts. I will go read them all now.

    Hammer 2 Thanks this.

Just do a search. Still not a company I would recomend. Hated everything about this company. All the drivers that worked for the company when I did, have left.

Hell, US Xpress is better than Falcon.

I have worked for falcon for about a year and a hlf now. If you want a boatload of money don't go here. They do however, have consistent runs, this is in the van division, I can't speak for flatbed. On the Toyota side your route will change every 3 - 5 weeks. On the gm side you will keep your route as long as they use that supplier. hometime is consistent too, not too many issues getting reset unless you want more work, then its up to you.

As a driver, things are always greener on the other side of the fence. You have to decide what trade offs you need, to get what you want. There are no perfect companies out there, usually its the same thing but different color paint on the truck. All in all, this is a tough job no matter what position you take. Flatbed is more physically demanding, but not usually as tight on the schedules. Vans are much more devoted to seat time and require good trip planning or you won't make the delivery times. It really comes down to what kind of professional you are and if you are good with managing your money so there is a paycheck waiting for you when you get home and not spent on cash advances for "goodies" bought on the road. Falcon is as good or bad as you make it. If you are a go getter, there are plenty of opportunities, but if you complain and have all kinds of problems, then they will act accordingly. Ask yourself these questions, would you hire you? Would you give you a great run if you are always complaining? Would you get a new truck if you won't take care of the equipment?

Doing automotive I have seen a bunch of ratty stapled together Internationals. Their trainer in my area seemed to be a pretty good guy. They have M-F dedicated in my area. They do run sleepers.
