My training class of 20 guys recovered 19 abandoned lease trucks in the 3 weeks we were on the road training. You have to wonder why 19 truckers would take an abandonment on their DAC.
I had a great time in Rockwall during orientation, we were the fantastic 4 plus a few strays that went out every night since one fella lived in Dallas and had wheels. I was the last one of the group to leave t/a after one year. -
hey firechump keep updating... T/A seems interesting im about 5 hours away from olathe.

I just quit Trans Am. Not because they didn't keep me rolling, but I just need to get home a little more often.
I leased from the get go. I started training other students and it was a lot of fun. All my students were good drivers, never had a bad one. My last check from TA was for $1989.00 for the week.
TA told me they would rehire me without hesitation. I liked working for them, but again, the home time issue just couldn't be worked out.
They have decent equipment, all their trucks are automatics, and they all have APUs and inverters.
Leasing wasn't the nightmare, at least it wasn't for me. BUT, you can't take more than two days off when you come home if you lease, so keep that in mind if you lease.
I typically ran 4 to 6 weeks out with 2 days off.
I just needed to be home a little more often than that.
Good luck at TA. -
you grossed that but what was your net? after payments and all the bs.
hometime is bad anywhere if lease because even at home you got to make the truck payment, and can you talk a bit more about the company. -

Then they will hear from me: "That's fine, then I won't cancel the other interviews that I have scheduled for the coming days. You invited me here, and we agreed prior to your invitation that I would not be interested in leasing at the outset. You expect me to arrive ready to work, and I expect you to be ready to put me to work when I arrive. I might consider accepting an offer of employment with you if you can get me into a company truck today, but in light of the circumstances, we may need to discuss increasing the starting pay."

Never act like you NEED the job, even if you're down to your last $10. And always have a plan B and C.
Freestyle12 Thanks this. -
Good Luck with that !!!!

Your post is unclear. If you lease you can take as much hometime as you like with T/A.
Now if you are saying you can't make a profit unless you go 4/6 weeks out and 2 days home then yes it makes sense.
