Just wondering if you have any rest areas nearby or DOT scales. You can park there - free.

Right on par as always Bill! Great post.:biggrin_25514:

Run with your friend for a while, get the experience, build up a slush fund and then decide your next move. There are plenty of O/O programs out there for you to lease on to if you choose and you should use this time running with your friend to do your homework on each of them. Best of luck to you.

Am I the only one that doesn't see the bigger picture ?

Who buys into a business without a business plan ?
Who buys into a business and then asks the opinion of complete strangers what to do ?

I'm not trying to be mean spirited here... seriously.

Do yourself a favor, sell the truck before lose it all, because it's obvious you don't know what your doing. Then do your homework and get a clue. Develop a business plan, know what your going to do and how your going to do it. THEN make the investment and move forward.

Trucking isn't about working hard, but rather working smart.

I hope this "Good Deal" doesn't wipe out your savings.

If you do decide to move forward, be sure you and your buddy understand federal leasing regulations. The one thing that would be in your favor in leasing on is that you are guaranteed your money despite whether or not your buddy gets paid (federal law) unlike having your own authority when you have to chase down your money.

One more thing... stay away from factoring companies. Once you sign their contract, they own you.... just saying.
