Does Roehl have any female trainers? It'd be kind of nice to learn some of the tricks to OTR from someone who "gets" the whole, "no, I can't just hang it out the door and pee," thing. This is, of course, assuming that I go to work for them...
Female trainers?

I believe they do yes. They will probably ask you your preference. Used to be they would only put females with other females or married males. (assuming trainee was on with it). Also smoking preference. I requested non smoking trainers and they actually do exist! I had 3 back in 08.

Groovy, thanks...I wonder what I'd get if I requested a non-smoking female who bathes regularly...probably a chain-smoking dude who hasn't seen a toothbrush or bar of soap since 1974, has braidable back hair and is a pantless driver that takes water pills, so he has a home-brewed catheter with a gallon jug receptacle next to the shifter.
Oh, and has "Smooth Operator" on the door to advertise to the LLs that he's a ladies man.
DrtyDiesel and Cooper09 Thank this. -
I hope the best for you, i know there are female trainers out there. -
Don't hold your breath too long waiting for a female trainer. Usually there has only been one gal training at any given time. Not sure if there any gals training presently. Just plan on being with one of the men who has gone through additional training and cleared to instruct women. I was very fortunate back in 2007 to have a guy that I got along with. Spent 4 weeks in the "tin can" with him. He, his wife and I are still very good friends. See them every few weeks when I get home. Grit your teeth and get through training and into your own truck. Roehl will not ask your preference. If you wait for gal trainer you might be waiting for several weeks/month. Since you have questions you can PM me if you like. I don't check my mail every day but will answer you eventually.

Ill train you, i shower every morning and take care of my truck
lol
Squirel Thanks this. -
I am a "Gender Certified" trainer for ROEHL. Several weeks ago we had a company trainer meeting, and I asked a Female trainer in our small group how many Female trainers we had. She told me at that time there were 2 Female trainers.
Don't know if they are smokers or not.
However, if you request one of them, it may take several weeks before they come available, as they may have other Female students ahead of you, and their hometime comes into play as well.
Many Female students go out with "Gender Certified" Male trainers like myself. There are not very many of us, I am guessing about a dozen or so, but please don'y quote me on that number.
We had to go thru additional training to get certified to train Females, and learn the different company policies covering sharing the truck with a Female driver.
One example is that wherever we park at overnight, there must be bathroom facilities.
Sometimes (althoguh not very often) with a Male student, we may spend the night some place that does not have bathrooms such as a construction site.
There are several other policies, such as changing clothes, calling in to the Female student liason each day etc...
Hope this helps.
ROEHL is a very good company, and I have trained nearly a dozen Female students, including 3 flatbed drivers. And I still bump into several of them occasionally.
Hope this helps. -
"Gender Certified"...sounds like a neutering program, not that it's a BAD thing. *LOL* Requiring restroom facilities is a GOOD thing...heck, even a port-o-let beats nothing, IMO. I just got off the phone with the recruiter (surprised she called me so quickly) and had that question answered similarly...few female trainers, be prepared to wait several weeks or MONTHS if I "gotta have one".
So long as the bf is ok with me riding with some strange man for a couple weeks, it's all good.
Drty, is the pic on your posts any indication of your mad drivin' skillZ? If it is, I think I'll pass, but thanks anyhow!
-
lol Nah, i try to keep the rubber on the road
-
Drty, you're okay...I don't care what I heard about you from all the other drivers.
Well, we shall see if you wind up as my trainer...I've got a duck or two to get in line before I can sign on for sure.
