check your state law on background checks quite a few can only go back 7 years and only report convictions not arrests also with some states the clock starts at time of conviction and others at time of parole

Those are some serious felonies.Don't think yuo'll find a trucking job for a long while.See if that school can help and ask them what you should do about paying for schooling if u can't find a trucking job.

Ok, main thing I'd be thinking about what you told us if I were doing the hire is "Will this guy go ballistic every time something goes wrong?" Y'see, this job is full of "confrontation moments" with shippers/recievers,etc and the last thing I want is a driver who's gonna go Rambo alla time.

Be aware that you will NOT be taking any cross-border freight EVER with that violent felony.... and their data base never changes.

Still, there is a possibility of a better future out there for you. Just gonna be harder to find is all. Personally, I'm betting on you... go for it.

I thank everyone for there comments and advice.no I'm not a nut case. and I got job as soon as I was released from prison in 2002. I worked at that job until 2009 when all upper management was laid off. But due to my background and economy I could not longer work in that field. I have several family members who drive truck. and I always wanted to be on the road. It is amazing at how people think. We all make mistakes some are more serious than others. I just want a chance to get job and prove myself. Once again I thank everyone for there advice and comments. :biggrin_25514: Be safe on the road everyone.

I got a grant to go to school. Yes I understand that these are serious crimes when it coms to trucking and life in general. but i qualify for hazmat and the twic card. I'm in the process of getting both. I have done alot of research into the trucking in industry. And I understand that this will be a hard and long road. But after being in prison nothing is hard to me. I will succeed I just wanted some sound advice from people in the field. My family told me that it was going to be hard. But if u want something bad enough you can achieve it. Thanks for the reality check.:biggrin_25514:

Oh you was in prison. That's a whole nother issue.Good luck finding a trucking job.Sure you can find a job in another field, but unless a close friend or relative hires you,im afraid it's going to be difficult finding a trucking company that'll give you a chance.A friend of mine was in the pen for 25 yrs.He found a job and still employed there. He's a welder at loadking.
