Rapid deceleration being recorded?

From what I've seen the people who oppose monitoring for safety/compliance are the drivers we don't need out here. I do a ####eload if mountain as well as city and small rural towns. Slow down and drive safely you don't have to worry about big brother.

 

as it would be helpful for a couple of office personnel to get out from behind the desk once or twice to get a feel for what it's like driving on the road.

Not saying all drivers are careful or fault-free. But office people also don't really grasp what it's like inside the cab of one of these trucks either.

Goes for dispatching / logging HOS and such as well.

 

We have dispatchers that ride along for a day once in awhile. It's been that way with us for years.

 

That doesn't even make sense. If you are regularly braking hard going down steep hills, you are dangerous.

 

part of my orientation for being a dispatcher was 7 days on the road.

 

I'd hate to follow you down a hill, if you would be jamming in the brakes hard enough to trigger a event.
Smooth and easy.

 

If you need to slam on your brakes 4 times in a day and a half then do me a favor and keep me abreast of your movements so I can avoid the roads when you're coming through my area.

You shouldn't have a 5th person brake check you. Stop tailgaiting and drive safer.

 

If you have 295 drivers whom stay off reports for brake actuation, hard braking, or overspeed but you have 10 that are consistently needing a phone call to question the latest downlod whom would you look at training or replacing.

 

If you have 295 drivers that consistently need baby sitters with technology that records their every move... I'd consider replacing the lot of them.

 

Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

Let the red light camera get me or get on the brakes? Gonna get safety points either way...###### if ya do, ###### if ya don't.

Some of those red light cameras are not timed (set up?) correctly for trucks...
