UTi got me good one day on a 100 mile run said it was a load of pipe 16,000lbs pick up and drop same day paid $300 but would put me in a better spot after I del my first load of the day I headed that way got there at 10:30 with 10 trucks in front of me after 11:45 I called and ask if it paid wait time she said it should not be much longer well they started loading me about 10 min till noon it was scrap pipe all diff sizes and lengths from 1/2 to 48" from 6"long to 30ft and I had to help the guy load most by hand they said ya will take care of you well 7hours later I was loaded and now had to drop the next morning
The next day the guy ask me what I weigh I said 47,000 going off there 16,000lbs the guy said go get a scale tiket and come back 14 miles there than 14 miles back I get off loaded the guy said when you come back with your empty scale tiket I'll sign your paper work I said what? I had to go back 28 miles again and was 1pm before I was done with that load
Not only did I not get wait time they didn't even pay for my scale Tikets or the extra miles I drove or even for helping them load me $300 was it I was so mad I said ####et and kept the paper work and never billed them for it hoping they never got paid I will never haul for them again -
How is that the Denver lane for flats just suddenly became dirt cheap?
Fuel in Cali is close to the $5/G range....
It's still winter...So fewer drivers are willing to run the Rockies.....
Loads that less than two weeks ago that paid $2/m+ are down to $1.20/M...
What gives?
The same loads are still available but at substantially lower rates...Are you brokers taking a higher percentage?
Hmmm...I see 2009 all over again.....
Tarped ("That's a good rate huh"...repeated by the brokers and their agents back then...) loads for $.50/M anyone?

UTI is the biggest scum bag broker out there. Theres a reason they changed there name 3 times in the last few years. Dirt bags.
FREEBRD Thanks this. -
I have had some good rates from UTI in the past...The two things I don't like about them is:
No Quick Pay...
And they in my history of dealing with them...Will not increase the rate if you ask....One of the few brokers that won't....
Most of the time...They'll just wait until a carrier will bite on that cheap rate....I have seen loads posted that I called on...Sit for two or three days...I guess UTI figures it's better to have the load sit and wait for a Bottom-feeder to take the load than, to talk to the customer and ask them to put more money on the table....
Hell...I can even get CHR to raise their rates...Now that's saying something.....

It's the law of supply and demand my friend. Denver is saturated with no decent paying freight coming out. Combine that with the cheap brokers scamming America and you have your problem.
As far as UTI... There's only one thing that comes to mind when I hear those letters together, and it's not trucking.

Theres money on the loads they have they just wont part with any of it. Theres one place in NH i get loads from once in a while from a broker and the loads are paying $2.50 plus a mile. There 2 and 3 stop loads that need a tarp. UTI will have the same loads posted for less than $2 a mile around $1.65.to $1.70.

There is no cheap brokers they make good money There just dumb drivers that haul for cheap rates so if you want to call someone cheap its the carriers/drivers that are cheap
dirthaller Thanks this. -
