2 right lanes only unless otherwise posted for an exit ramp to the left etc.
I saw one guy that got a ticket after pulling onto 15 IIRC, from a left hand entrance ramp and not being able to get over. Had his turn signal on for @1mile then got the blues behind him....Now that was BS

When I went through it was heavy traffic also. I hate that state with a passion.

For OD loads, it is a pretty easy state to get along with to be honest.
Just so many cities that have curfews and all want their own permit if you are delivering within their city limits.
Not a big deal though when you can wait out curfew and then drive at night time, and the routing is normally not too bad.

Ive never done OD, want to someday though. I just dont like the state, and not just trucking related. My thing, at least here lately, seems to be delivering out in the middle of nowhere lol Farson Wyoming last week, and this week to a farmers field lol Should be interesting. Did deliver out into the middle of the desert in Cali once. Drainage pipe of all things lol

I take machinery into mines etc at times, but mostly I go to Cat dealers unless I find myself in a bad area that is.

We do some CAT, but I think mainly just parts. Hauled one, pretty cool load. Hope to get into OD someday, but need to learn a lot more first.

When and if you make the switch, be sure it's for a company that runs OD loads on a very regular basis. Otherwise it will be a headache.
We have 2 gals that ONLY get permits etc, and know the laws in each state off the top of their heads. Very handy when you run to a state that you dont normally go to and need to know about curfews, travel times, etc.
I just loaded out of Pittsfield Ma and needed a memory jog for the Ct and Pa laws, as well as the Newburgh bridge curfew.
I normally run either Midwest only, or Midwest to West, so know all the rules there. East coast is thankfully not a regular haunt for me.

Is it a Cali legal spread......10' 1"?......
If so, 40K on the tail.....Or 20k per axle....
Now a suggestion for that wagon if you're running up to OR or CO with a load...Treat it like a Tandem...Otherwise....DOT in both states will pull you in...And then you have to reweigh to prove you're legal.... -
Last middle of nowhere place for me was Baghdad AZ. I will not be going back anytime soon...

It does on mine....I have a 386/70" sleeper/DPF with a 256" WB....You ##### betcha that fifth-wheel (kingpin) adjustments matter....
