lets just clarify, the paycheck is good because of all the hours, other than that, the pay is not that great. The thing is though, not too many jobs out there that WANT you to work alot of hours other than the oil field, so thats pretty cool.

Paul hit the nail on the head. The OT pay is what makes working in the field so attractive. If not for that it would be.....Fries with your order sir ?

that makes no sense. $100,000 is $100,000. So you are telling me $100,000 is not that great? Yea right.

But would you want to work 4000 hrs a year for that $100,000?

Or would you rather work 2500 hrs a year for that $100,000?

that isnt the point, the point is the dollar amount. $100,000 is a decent chunk of change. Sure you may work more, but imo, $100,000 in earnings in this current economy is good imo. And on that note anyone fairly new to this industry/field is going to have to put the hours in, we all had/have to to start.

"pay" as in hourly wage, the money is fine but just wanted to keep things in perspective, lets face it, its 2012 and 15-16 bucks an hour is not that good a wage considering the work and responsibility involved. Also, i know of many people that have put their dues in and they aint makin much more, it is what it is.

i'd love to make 100 grand, i can work till i'm blue in the face out here and not come close to 100 grand in a year.
