Can a single o/o get a national acct with t/a or other service provider, or is it not feasable with a single truck or sub 5 truck fleet?

I've read about ooida offering breakdown insurance for about 300 per year. You can check out the details at their website.

300 per year? wonder what that covers? I'm sure one roadside tire replacement would be more than that $300 fee.

OOIDA does offer breakdown coverage. Don't recall the price, but it seemed reasonable to me.

I called up a small towing company to give me a pull start so I could suck some fuel into my engine (forgot to open the crossover valves), and he took a carbon copy of my credit card and my phone number in case it didn't go through.

I tried to reply with a link and I don't think that is allowed. I went to ooida website and found that the roadside assistance is provided through ntp (the warranty people). ooida members get a discount. they didn't list the price, there are 2 different assistance packages. hope this helps....

Yes you can, usually through someone else's program. In most cases that account direct bills your credit card if you haven't got business credit established. Most of the time you can beat the program prices by calling around. The benefit is a negotiated (known in advance) pricing schedule and service commitments that, of course, have no penalties if missed.

Probably so they don't get sued when it turns up at the bottom of a superfund site ten years from now.

Or they want the casing for retreading. Though I doubt company drivers maintain the proper air pressure enough to keep a casing viable for recapping.

Our outfit tried that briefly but we have no safe place to put the casing. About the 2nd time somebody broke the heat transfer fittings that are located on the catwalk they quit it.

Turns out a couple of company drivers were selling new tires off the truck/tractor and charging new ones. They got sloppy and were doing 1 or 2 every trip.... at the same tire shop. They ain't around any more.:biggrin_2559:
