    Hey guys,

New to the forum, and need some help. I am currently trying to do an engine swap from a 99' Peterbilt 3406E to a 98' Peterbilt that also had a 3406E. My problems is that the 99' Peterbilt ECM has a 70 pin harness and the 98' Peterbilt has a 40 pin. Any suggestions as to what I need to do to help me out, are there any adapters that I can buy to make this swap work?

    Thanks for the help

Cat make a harness to put a 70pin ECM in a truck that has a 40pin OEM connector but the neatest way to do it is buy a 70 pin plug and use the schematic of each engine to swap the wires over.

The cat harness part number is 133-8109. Or if you would like to do as Jas said and go the OEM 70 pin plug route, Cat OEM plug number 160-7689.
