Thanks for the sensible info, I should have realized this a long time ago, but I thought that I was someone special. I am an American citizen. Aren't we better than everyone else in the world?

Yeah, but out with the gross-man, in with the grease-man. After the Cubs win the world series, the Bears let-down will be easier to swallow...

here it is 9/26 and I still have not received my personal belongings. Do I have any options?

if you have a complete set of designer coffee mugs that say pilot on them, u may be a truck driver (redneck)!

I am going with Dick Lavy, out of Ohio. Anyone got any info on them, and what is it like to work for them?

See alot of them here around my home 20 shaggy, which is in Mass. near cape cod, don't know if they have a cust here or not, but there stuff looks half decent and like I said I see them quite a bit, good luck and keep in touch I just choose a carrier to go with too, will be my first job OTR, but I do have 15 yrs exp running local well. all over N.E. I avg 3 to 400 mile days, but have always having to make multiple stops and cpvering no ground, I am also an equiptment freak, I love trucks, and the only way I will ever get in a nice unit beside buying my own is to work for an otr company, I know it sounds crazy but it has been a life long dream, if my family didnt own the company I was with I would have done it right away.. Any way I am willing to bet if You are willing to work and are not a cryer, and pull through the hard stuff and keep thi #####en too your self, I bet all theese companys aqre not too bad to work for and I be some of them are great. After being very close and involved in the day to day operations of a company I will say for sure it is hard to find anyone that will actually work and wants to, man it was impossible to find guys especially the young,, Example, I had a customer that supplied schools all over New england with supplies, problems with it, well schools are located usually in hard to find spots, and most of the frieght comes off by hand, hard work Yes, but you could do say 12 stops in C.T. from here so You were looking at a 250 mile day in total including comming back home. Probably about 12-15 hrs work but the load would pay around 1200 dollars for the day to the driver, I couldnt even give the stuff away we always ended brokering it out to an ltl company. O/Os wouldnt even touch it. If I owned my own truck and was able to make 1200 a day and come home too I would have jumped on it. like I said there was no ,milage to it. Oh well good luck to You Lavy and good luck to me at abilene. Keep in touch.

What is so special about the week end? :biggrin_25523:

Not really a trucker are You? That is ok! Holding the steering wheel and getting paid for it is ok. It is a lifestyle, not a job. Get over it.

Call me "different", but I don't necessarily want to have weekends off. During the week is fine with me. And I LIKE running during holidays too. Whole different atmosphere then.

    Christmas?
    Thanksgiving?
    Easter?

    I'll take the load!

As an added bonus, the drivers who's loads I take think THEY owe ME for doing that.
    Imagine that
    What's not to like?

you are wrong, there is in fact something you can do, it will take abit of money, but you can infact do something about the.

    check this site out.

blast cant post links. just search the stock market for the symble: "YRCW"

that is the stock for yrc, by owning even 1 share makes you part owner of the company, which means they cant tell you, that you are not allowed on the property. With 1 share you can cost yrc money. if you can afford enough shares you can go to share holder meetings, and voice your opinions amongst the top owners of the company. With some speaking skills you can probably get a few big holders to agree with you. from there who knows where it would go.

if you cant fight them from the front line's fight them from the inside. if nothing else, make it very public about there company, I myself fell into an scam company before I started trucking, company is called cutco, after I lost $200 to them, I got nothing out of it. I spent more money to tell my story to a few newspapers around the country. ny times, The examiner, usa today, detriot free press, and the florida today. by doing this it costed cutco, now I cant even find stock information on Cutco, vector marketing, or alcas. Alcas is the mother company to Cutco, and Vector Marketing.

I have been putting my story out there. I have sent it to many newspapers in Pa. I just sold my company stock that I had in a 401k. I suppose I am like most Americans, and I am going to give up fighting them. It would bring me down if I just went crazy, and concentrated on getting even with them. I will get another job, and move on. Got a family to feed. Thanks for the advice though, I appreciate it. Now, if they were to try, and blackball me from this industry, then I would go after their reputation. So far that hasn't happened
