To all the drivers worried bout job security when fuel goes way up . No worries the company gets fuel surcharges from the places they pick up from to offset the higher Prices so I wouldn't worrie. The company has been there a long time and steve Williams is no dummy he and his assistants know what to do so just do your best keep your fuel mileage up and you will be one of their shining stars

US Division and wasn't trying to start an argument; I was just saying it has happened to me several times. Everything has to fall into place just right or it won't happen and it really helps to start off with a 1000+ mile run.
-
Yea I hear ya there on being wore out on a long mile week. I got home last friday evening around 6pm after running all those miles and I was tired all weekend. I probably won't see a 3000+ mile week for a month or so. I asked him how he did that and he said he picked up a load on Thursday that was a 1600 mile run from Tulsa, Ok to somewhere in New Jersey and had a run from New Jersey back to Tulsa after he dropped the first one off. I don't know if TCD is different than us, but he said that on the TCD side that if you get unloaded on Sunday night before midnight, you get to count (that sunday drop off) for that weeks miles.

does any one have any input on the glass davision on this post they told me they where going to put me in that area . plus are you able to idle there trucks
-
Where do you live? If your truck doesnt have an apu you can idle but they still expect you to meet a minimum mpg.
-
You probably won't need to idle the truck, the newer ones have APU's in them...if you get an older truck you can idle (heck, you can idle the new ones...but there is no need)...for non-APU trucks they prefer you keep the idle below 20%, which is hard to do in the summer.
Maverick is more worried about MPG's than idle time...keep the MPG's up and the idle as low as possible (if you really need to...idle)...and you should be OK.
I hauled glass for a while but I've been out of that division too long to say what its like these days. -
I just completed Mavericks orientation for the Temp. Controlled Division today and now just waiting for my trainer to pick me up which should be Monday.
