There's lots of light weight highway trucks pulling lightweight tandens that can load 50K or more.

You just have to spec it right>to make it light!

You are way better off with a flat with sides in your area IMO. Right now might be the perfect time to find a never used 2011 on a lot and get it for a good price.

    SHC Thanks this.

lol, no when you rent a trailer from Landstar, such as the brand new aluminum Fontaine Revolution SHC will be getting, the rental agreement states that is the only trailer you may pull. I posted the short and sweet answer from my phone earlier. I'm not worried about Rob finding my gravy, but I worry enough that the 1000's of folks that hit this site might, I give no clues or pics of the gravy.

I'm definitely interested in hearing what SHC has to say about the Revolution once he's had it a few weeks. BTW, buy some frigging tarps, coil racks, beveled lumber, rubber strips and some edge protectors already. Coils are easy to load.

Yeah. I've toyed with the idea of buying a new RGN and keeping my step for my gravy and when RGN is slow. I think you have to pull a load with the trailer every 120 days to keep it in the system though.

Well I have 16x24 and 16x28 tarps. Looks like a few coil tarps may be in my future. I have plenty of edge protectors, chains, binders and other stuff.

I'm still gonna stay on the waiting list for one of their new 51' steps tho.

If and when I buy a new trailer, if it is a flat, it will have a coil package and a front lift axle.

As for running a side kit, that would seem to only be good if I was ONLY going to run coils. I have seen a lot of good paying 9' wide loads by home.
