Do companies mind if drivers have a spare key made?

:) Yeah, I guess that would be easier. Now where do you get one made? I don't think your average locksmith would have truck key blanks. Or do they?

Columbia and Century and probably Coronado use a double sided key, similar to some GM keys but actually matching with Dodge and Chrysler keys. A friend got another guys truck open for him with a key from a Grand Prix . Walmart key cutters can cut other blanks than what they sell, but you can get a duplicate at Wally World for the newer FLs, you need a blank for the FLDs.

if ur locked out of a freightliner.. find someone who drives a freightliner. theres only 100-200 keys for the billions of freightliners on the road. so you got a 1/100 chance someone else at the truck stop has the same key as you:biggrin_2556:

i have a spare key ziptyed under the hood of my truck the other night i locked myself out of my truck, opened the hood and theres a key :biggrin_2559:

Happened to me the other day and the guy next to me had the same truck I did but different year but he put his key in my lock and turned and the door opened as if it was my key. Volvo's will do the same thing as well. My OnRoad wanted me to break the side window at the bottom of the door to get in..

Uh yes I did just that. I'm not a real big guy, but I have a really smart mouth, with an attitude. So I generally wait for the crowd of LARGE aggressive and useless people to get out of the way, before I offer my services. Tis easier to wait, than ride to the hospital ;)

But I am glad to see this thread has gotten some additional advise and tips for the drivers on this board :D

Why would the trainer leave a student in the truck while he or she is sitting home enjoyin their time off. If i was the student I would have called the Co and asked why i was'nt in a hotel somewhere while my trainer was at home, Dont these companies that train reimburse for motel rooms for the students?:mconfused:
