True. My old 06 Freightliner and 48'x96" Transcraft I could scale 51,000 and that was all steel wheels and combo trailer. Of course, with a MB engine I could barely PULL 51,000 but I could scale it:biggrin_2559:

I would suggest that whatever trailer you choose to stick with it for a while. 4 weeks is not long enough to develop a feel for the market. When you are pulling a step, it might seem like the guys with the flats are making all the money. Once you start pulling a flat, you will start noticing all the great step deck loads you are missing out on. It is the old grass is greener on the other side mentality. Once you pull a trailer for a while you will start to learn where to go to get the best paying freight. It takes time to develop the connections that get you the best paying freight. Develop your own system.

PS....coils can easily be hauled on a step deck.

    SHC Thanks this.

Picked up the new trailer today and I have to admit, Landstar picked the right specs for it. I think I'm gonna enjoy this.

no chain shc, just a 4 inch ratchet strap and a air valve to dump the bags and another ball valve to stop the air two the front 2 bags

1 to 1 and 1/2 mpg gallons when empty or loaded with less than 20,000

cpape, you got that right about the grass.

it takes awhile to see the long term avg.

Actually to make one an air lift is about $300 if you buy the kit. Or you could make one for around $200 if you have some steel plate.
