Setting Delta-Tune
Delta-Tune functions as a fine tune control
enabling you to capture a more readable signal,
as well as eliminate adjacent channel interference...

Brownietrucker24 Thanks this. -
It IS a fine tune and back in the old days because under the old rules you could be almost +/- 2 khz off and be legalBrownietrucker24 Thanks this.

On a Cobra type radio you put it in the middle and leave it alone, or convert to a band switch when you put a channel kit in your radio.
-
On Cobra radios it's there for guys who run Amps...They have it converted to a Variable Power knob so they can adjust their DK... Why Cobra don't just do this from the factory, I have no idea because the Delta Tone feature is really pointless...
Galaxy CB Radios have a Variable Power knob and are FCC certified...As long as the adjustable power does not exceed 4w's, Cobra could have this already on their radios... -
It can also be used to put in an echo knob. Then you use the Ch 9 switch for a roger beep.
-
Yeah that would be a good use also. I just used one of the switches for hi/lo pwr, because I had the channel kit in mine.
Never added a roger beep......do people really do that?????? I have added channel kits and connex boards......wouldn't do it again, would just buy an export to start with......but never roger beep, burp, fart or any other obnoxious toy. (confession, did have a Echo Max mic on a bast station one time, now there's a roger beep for you!!.....but it had an on/off switch) -
What's a channel. Kit

I set mine half or just right and everything seems to sound good. Have maxed it out before to hear/understand those echo freaks. A little sounds good but do ya hafta sound like robo cop in a 5 gal bucket?
-
It should not matter even with echo unless they are so distorted that they are producing FM .... the Delta/tune should be wide enough to account for the legal bandwidth of center frequencies ( +/- about 2 KHZ from center ) with todays PLL loops things should be even tighter ....
