I have worked for JB for 10 years. I have been called everyname in the book by drivers cause I dont really back talk the company, BUt I tell how it is, Dont listen to negativty about JB most of the drvers either never worked for them or had a bad experience or maybe didnt want to run. Its a family oreinted company and they will take care of you as long as you do your job, if you want a job that doesnt push you thats your call and they wont work you over your limits, but if you wanna make money well it will happen, as with most companies. I have heard alot about Swift and drivers that have issues with them. No company out there is perfect but if you want to work and make money JB is a good step. IMO.

8 years now...I started as a driver in 03' and was able to move up into the office in 05'. It really is like any other company - we have our good and bad qualities but they have taken care of me and my family for the past 8 years.

Depending on what you are coming to JB Hunt for... OTR/Reg/DCS/Intermodal will make the biggest difference. The OTR & Regional fleets have the highest turnover due to misunderstandings & false expectations of both the drivers and some of the managers. I hear more complaints from this division than any other.

DCS: definately a step up - you work for a specific account doing a specific job; usually the work is more consistent and depending on the size of the account and the manager running it - DCS can be a very rewarding career.

Intermodal: its the bread and butter of JB Hunt right now. We hauled over a million and half loads last year and are looking to haul 2 million this year. We are already 18% over what we did this same time last year! The miles are obviously there if you are willing to work 5-6 days, take your reset and get back out there.

If I had a choice I would go either DCS or Intermodal, if you don't and get stuck running the Regional, talk to Dennis Walser or call 800.723.5055 for the SE DCS hiring manager - can't think of her name right now. Anyway, let them know that you are interested in going Intermodal. Talk to Rhonda in Atlanta and see if she can get you in contact with Jerry over at the rail yard. Rhonda is one of the instructors in Atlanta. Good Luck!

Yeah I moved to mcgregor in July of last year. The account I am on needed a driver here so I voluntered. Dont let the size of this town fool you, it isa small town and people are nice. It is quiet when refering to trouble makers and stuff like that. But that #### train runs through all the time and shakes the town. Plus we have spaceX that test rocket motors too. Thats cool so they get a pass. ( =

as far as the driving test I dont know atlanta but most of them are just basic skills in the city and the backing is normal I think.

I don't know how Atlanta is, but I run intermodal out of Chicago (and Saint Paul).

Best thing is, they keep you moving. Home every week. I used to drive for Swift and the difference is night and day.
