tell ya what. I was in a POS 05. TWICE. I "retired" both trucks before they were scheduled out of fleet service. My inattention got the better of the first truck(needed a new hood after I got done with it) and the second had a mechanical breakdown( not sure if it will be sold as is or what)
Do you honestly think ANY company is going to put an inexperienced driver in a newer, lower miles truck right off the bat?
There may be some that have longer "with trainer" training programs, but this company doesnt operate that way.
What they do is give noobs a truck that runs and pulls like it needs to , for a short time while we get out feet wet. This after 10 -14 days with a road trainer.
BTW , those "pos trucks" get sold. So they cant be all THAT bad. -
Heck, I would be happy with an old cab over!
-
No driver trainer, I was going solo straight ot of orientation. Star offred me a better deal than that
-
I had an 05' and now an 07'. Both over 800k miles on them. I havnt had a single major problem with either of them. Beggers can't be choosers!

You list yourself as student? meaning no experience?

I had my own rig many years ago. Took a driving course to get up to speed on on all the new
stuff. SN recruiter said 2 weeks orientation and then I'm good to go. -
Ahh, well now we're talking a whole nother ball of wax.
You did say you decided to go with the other offer you had? -
