Franklin Park aint no better. Pat Omalley and Linda somebody, real pieces of work. Hire illegals to wash their tanks and are nice to those who kiss A__. Hell even the secretary is mean. Never worked in a more rotten environment. Big sign in garage. "No Drivers". The maintenance is full of hateful mechs and the maintenance manager is a real piece of work. Stands around and smokes all day, tries to intimidate drivers but is really just a fat slob.

:biggrin_2555: ####! They must be really bad if you'd recommend someone go to Swift instead.

I believe they are owned by Truck Country. A huge Freightliner dealership network in IA and WI area.

When did you work for them out of Chattanooga? I worked there in 2002-2003. The work wasn't that bad but I was sure glad to see that 10 hour off rule take effect for I could get a decent sleep at night.

They are actually owned by McCoy Group, or some name to that effect. It is a huge company, that does own truck dealerships as well. But it is not the truck companies that own Foodliner.

But when you bent over a barrel, with your pants down around your ankles, does it really matter who the guy screwing you works for?

I looked, you're right. Truck Country and Foodliner is just some of the conglomerates. I knew there was a connection some how!

I use to go that Dubuque shop.

Looks like the McCoy Group owns Truck Country, Foodliner, Tow Truck Country, McCoy National Lease, Quest Liner and Quest Logistics.

Couple things to set straight here. Linda is no longer with the company. they don't hire illegals, they all present their credentials upon hiring - seriously, who would risk hiring illegals anymore? The secretary can come off as rude sometimes, i'll agree. i also know that she is extremely busy trying to keep the local drivers running smooth with all the local deliveries, preloads, and constant changes in dispatch due to customer demands. There is a sign in the shop "no drivers" because a while back a driver slipped and fell and hurt himself pretty bad. That sign was posted for safety reasons. driverjoe is not a big fan of me cause he thinks all i do is spy on drivers out here so i'm sure he'll have something good to say about me. i respect his opinion and agree there are some things awry in the terminal. note that i didn't rebut everything he is saying. just wanted to clarify a few things i believe to be true.

The McCoy group is the parent company, started in 1958. Foodliner is the food grade carrier, Quest Liner is the chemical carrier, and Truck Country is the Freightliner dealerships.

anyone else has questions, i'll be glad to share.

I worked at lafayette termonal for 6 long years. My experance is the same as the others take your bonus for anything they can. Time off is your restart then back to work or else. The lafayette termonal maniger and regonal maniger are haveing an affair. They went to the manigers meeting she came back with bed bugs he is no where to be found. I think the force dispatche and bonus steeling is higher than j.m. and p.johns. dont work for these theeves

Hell Hogboy. I respect your recent reply. We obviously have different opinions about Foodliner. I hate changing jobs and only wish my experience with Foodliner had been more positive. Its pretty typical of trucking firms they have good ideas but then they tend to treat those who do one of the most important functions , which I think is the safe delivery of the product, as unimportant. Reason for the high turnover rates in the transportation industry

Sorry to hear about your displeasure concerning Foodliner. I load often at Horizon in Wichita and see a fair amount of Foodliner trucks there. I've talked with their local guy that loads trucks at Horizon and have never really heard any horror stories about the company. All of their trucks seem to be in pretty decent shape.....just my opinion.
EVERY company has its personal horror stories to tell....or hide!
I too haul bulk (flour). I'm home #### near EVERY day...maybe not at a convenient time (to me), but I'm home every day. Most of the customers I haul to are pretty dang nice, with the exception of one or two places. My truck is a 2010 Freightshaker, it had 95K when I stared driving it, now its got 244K, w/a 10 spd and a decent size sleeper. Hauling flour CAN be a pain...usually depending on the trailer you have. The mileage pay "ain't" great where I work, but quarterly safety bonuses(very attainable) and the year end profit sharing check puts me in a very comfortable place.....bills are paid, money into savings and no one knocking on my door saying I owe them money.
Life is what you make of it....and that includes making the wise choice in advance of taking a job.
