yes i pick up from both meat plants in dodge city KS but as fare as them taken a long to loaded. well we do drop and hooks there so we get in and get out. if you time it right you'll be able to do a 10 hour break at home. BUT keep in mind if you go company and your house is more then 10 miles out of rout you will have to pay the company the miles to and from your house. but if you go leas you can go the way you want too. But you have to whatch your fule you pay for that.
As for the 34 rest i never had to do one. If you manage you time right youll never run out of time. -
In the 3 years I spent there, did plenty of resets..... most of them unneeded. I agree that Dodge is usually pretty good bout getting you out of there..... usually. Texas is the place that killes you and especially if you get stuck going to Plainview.
As to being charged for your miles, always keep in contact with your DM and let them know whats going on. Plainview, closest place for a shower, unless you rent a room, is 34 miles away. One way. Amarillo is about 10. If your DM is good, and yur on good terms with them, you can get away with a lot of stuff..... or anyway, you could when I was there. Been gone almost a year now tho so...... things change. -
That is true about going to texas. there are a few other place that ive went to that are slow. And NEVER EVER be late going to a Wal-Mart. thats a good way to get a reset. And yes being on good trems with your DM you'll be great. BUT if you piss them off they will do every thing to make you quit.

hey mike do's nd don'ts for transam lease
-
well the do's would have to be show your driver manager that your willing to work and run alot of miles. DONT just hop in to you truck the frist day and put in for home time. Your DM will rout you near your home (if they can) so you can do at lest a 10 hour 10 break. They know you've been away from home for a long time. run a few weeks before you take your home time and keep it short. look over the your truck when you get it. IT has been in the shop befor you get it. but note all the dents and things like that. WATCH your fuel. thats how you make your money.
the best thing i can say is run the more miles you run the more money you make. the more home time and down time you have the less money you'll make.
I do have a channel on youtube that is going to go over alot of this in better detail and shows how to make money with this company.
its under the same name as on here.passport220 Thanks this. -
I started with TransAm in July of 2011. I was promised the world and was handed crap. My trainer was a lease operator who lied so bad on his books that I had to take a reset. I leased a truck which broke down the first week I had it due to a mistake made by the MHC Kenworth dealer before I got the thing. It was fixed, but the break down pay didn't take care of hotel or food never mind an income for the 4 days it was in the shop. My MPG was 8.1 and I only went home for a total of 6 days while employed with them. They refused to pay layover when I earned it, my DM was a liar and when I caught him at it I got screwed. I got no miles. Period. Leasing won't help you because all they do is look for your fuel usage and hometime for excuses. And when it really is the fact that dispatch won't give you miles they say they can't control dispatch. DO NOT LEASE from TransAm if you are coming right out of school. It's a scam. Go company. But expect the really hard pressure to lease. So much that when you return to test out they won't have trucks for you. UNLESS YOU LEASE. Their equipment is great an dthe maintenance is top notch. The older trailers have tandem sliding issues from time to time. There are some good people there but they care not a #### about you. My family went homeless because I wasn't getting any miles. Go company...with whoever and learn this business first.

the truck payments are way to high and the cpm is way to low on the leases. -
well my truck has been in the shop for 2 weeks now. and im still maken money. GET A RENTAL TRUCK. its covered in you brake down inc. so i know all to well about break downs. this is your job. YOU and ONLY you have to make the right chosses to make money. Grow some balls and man and or woman up. if your a leas op you work for your self. you quit trans am the day you compelt there training. soo the company dosent have to do anything for you. you pay the company for what they do for you. trucking is a life style not just a job. if you have no idea what your doing stay out of the driver seat. Its sad really that poeple think that eveything has to be given to them. As a leas guy I am my own boss i work for my self i just drive with the company name on the side of my truck. i am planing on owning my truck at the end of the leas.
its not just luck you have to know how to run a company because that is what your truck is. YOUR COMPANY. you have no one to blam but your self.
if your are a company driver then you have a reson to get on here and say what is being said. cause i can see how the company messes with company driver.
