If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Tenacity is key.
-
Do tell. Why?
-
How do u get there without messing it up?

I am/was under contract with CRST. I'm told that if I don't honor or pay the company back that in 6 months they will send me to collections and at that point that will break the contract. Well they have not done that and so when a trucking company inquires if I'm still under contract and they say yes, the trucking company won't hire me unless the contract is broken. Thats why they are getting suied with a class action.

Well for me it was just learning the trade. Most of the problems I run into out here have nothing to do with CRE. Also thinking long term helped me get through that first year as a new driver.
My long term goal is to get 4-5 trucks paid off and start my own business. I still have a lot to learn about the logistics business but that is why I always ask veteran drives questions.
Right now the bottom line is my net paycheck. I would still not be with CRE if I could not support my family back home. -
Is it true CRST is partially owned by CRE?

It's still a lease purchase if you want it to be. Saying the CRE lease program is not a lease purchase program would be suggesting that under no circumstances you can't buy the truck at the end.
It may not be the most favorable way to purchase one of these trucks at the end of leasing it but it is an available option.
PS, I know you went on to say that buying the truck at the end is possible but I'm just elaborating on what you said before that about it not being a lease-purchase program.
Whether or not that was a complete waste of time, well, you be the judge.
Whatever it takes to make it happen.
Congrats.
I'm glad it worked out for you but since we are leasing this truck for three years, I really don't wanna have to fork over any more money than what we've already paid to have this truck for the time that we've already had it for. Besides, I've been told that the asking price on these trucks is a lot more than what blue book is on them so if I'm gonna buy a truck, its gonna be from a dealer.
I dunno, something tells me you are looking at the gross income, not the net income.Dewey120 Thanks this. -
Oh I agree with you completely..IT IS DEFINATELY NOT THE MOST FAVORABLE WAY to purchase a truck..
IF you can stomach paying approximately $2,000 a month for 48 months building ZERO equity...and IF you can provide for your family during that period...and IF you can obtain financing on an overpriced used truck with 700,000 miles on it...Then you too can be a fleet owner at CRE..I applaud you sir, STRIKE UP THE BAND AND LET THE PIGEONS LOOSE!!
You have lost all common sense and there is no dissuading you from imminent demise. I wish you well in all you attempt. -
You make it sound like such a bad, horrible, grotesque thing. I don't agree with paying for this truck twice but as long as one is bringing money in, what difference does it make? So what if one grosses over a hundred grand a year and only brings home 40k of that? That may not be "rich-man" income but its a hell of a lot more than what you would make at McDonald's or Burger King as a burger flipper.
It's funny how this is so criticised, that when at the same time, nobody looks down upon on Richy Rich for spending almost a million dollars on a Rolls Royce, or, upwards of 35,000 on a Rolex watch. Even better yet, a million on a famous painting of a rock. So what if that billionaire can afford it.
At least with England's lease purchase program, practically anyone can buy their own truck and start their own business. You may pay a little more for the truck, but it certainly keeps the door open to the possibilities. You don't always need a credit check, hell, you don't even need great credit in the first place. No huge down payment, or an 8 year loan.
You may spend a lot more than what the truck is worth, But at least that truck is what earns your income.Dewey120 Thanks this.
