So after working at Pilot Travel Centers in Tumwater, WA. I finally have my turn to head to school and obtain my CDL at TDDS in Lake Milton! :biggrin_25524:

I start March 12th, leaving tomorrow at 9:45 taking greyhound and arriving saturday morning, in youngstown! :biggrin_2555:

Im doing the 16 week program and going to miss everyone at Pilot who encouraged me and made me a part of there family and to all the drivers who made me laugh! :biggrin_2559:

My plans after graduation is either OTR or head home and work for Asplundh, keeping options open though! I know there is other posts about this school but I wanted my own! :biggrin_25514:

Good for you. What in the world is taking 16 weeks though? Must be a college.

So the first four weeks in the classroom with Mr. Dan was long but finally made it out to the yard! Classroom was pretty easy and I start my first day of driving this friday 04/20/12 so excited! I have instructor Bruce trying to teach me parallel parking but its hard when you dont understand what he is saying! lol overall though it has been interesting.

If you attend here bring money for food and for rides! Housing is like a group home tons of rules and very boring which makes for good studying time! There is no shuttle service to the school so bring a car with you.

If you live in another state you will have to switch your license over to Ohio which will cost 23.00 dollars and you take a operators test. The permit cost 27.00 dollars and CDL cost 42.00 dollars. Bring SSN Card, license birth certificate or passport and make sure your SSN Card is not laminated otherwise the BMV (DMV) will not accept it.

The equipment you train on is falling apart, there is a truck that if you push out the service brake button (yellow) the whole dashboard comes out. :biggrin_25524: So do not get high hopes about the trucks the road trucks are slightly better than the site but this is a school trying to make money!

if you want to know more just PM me! :biggrin_255:
