I've been lurking here on and off for almost a year now. Finally became a member so I can join in on the conversation:biggrin_255:

    A little about me-
I have been a Commercial Pilot for 8 years. I have flown 135 freight (basically what you guys and gals do except I could go faster and haul less). Been a Chief Pilot for a University flight training center and most recently was a bush pilot in southwestern Alaska... in a little slice of hell called Bethel:biggrin_255: I can proudly say that I have never bent anything or had an incident or accident in those years.

I won't boar you with the details but with the economy and other factors I'm looking to do something else. Basically, my plan is still developing as far as the where, what and when goes but I'm going to get into trucking. I have just a splash of experience with Livestock haulers and a lot of experience around livestock. So naturally, I'm leaning that way because it's closer to what I know, and being well out of any freight lanes and far away from any city it makes sense. I'm from ranch country.

OTR and flats sounds great to me. I'm just not all that interested in the giant companies... no offense it just isn't my cup of tea. I'm leaning more towards specialized loads. Or time sensitive deliveries. I'm not dead set on anything as I realize I have a lot to learn. So it is all subject to change.

I admit to not know much about anything with trucking but I am astonished the more I read because it is so simular to aviation. I mean it is almost the same deal. From pre-trips to duty/drive regs to maintainence. Heck, you guys complain about the same things pilots do, school scams, the blind leading the blind, guys hauling loads for dirt cheap, shaddy companies and crappy unsafe equipment. Very much like aviation.

Anyhow, Thanks for these forums and all the knowledge here!
