I have a class A with a good MVR. I'm looking at some construction/oil well jobs that want a CDL, will they check DAC? I have some dings on there, slow maneuvering stuff. Will it matter for an outfit concerned with dumps, large trucks etc, but non OTR kinda stuff? Thanks.

Probably not. So keep quiet, until they ask you (if they run a DAC), then explain in a CLEAR way what happened.

I just do not see any construction company giving a flip, to run a DAC.

    Till then, "mum's the word"

oil field companies (most of them) only care if you can drive, they need good drivers who can haul heavy loads off road, at least that's my bosses look on it.

if,according to your other post, you have trouble paying attention during backing.how are you going to handle a construction zone,or on a gaswell sight where sometimes they are sometimes a nice wide open backing area,or on smaller pads you may have to blindside back around to the back of the offload area to hit the excact hose they want you too hit.or in a construction area, where you have workers walking all around you, oblivious to the fact your attempting a backup?if your on a frac gas well sight, water tankers maybe an option for you, they are smaller, and easier to handle.

no,just simple facts.i was wworking for a comp. contracted to haliburton and they had zero tolerance for b.s..and if you took too long backing into a slot, you, and your co. heard about it.turn too tight on the pad and rip the cavas, you would be throwed out and barred.alot of 18-22 hour days.a lot of down time.1 time stuck on the pad for 25 hours due to a breakdown.the pay is great, but you work for it.you are on call 24/7.alot of times you walk in the door at the house, then walk right back out.

Thought you was gonna be God's gift to truckin' hey?:biggrin_25516::biggrin_2559:

Seriously though dude, I've seen this scenario many times. It's reality nibbling on your hind quarters. Some adjust, some just hate the fact that oftimes the "lesser beings" can do something better than you. Which are you going to be?
