oilfield driver trainer now

    Hi all, I am kind of an older fella with lots of miles. I came to the oilfield over a year ago in a truck and they made me a trainer. I am not a road trainer or the typical guy that sits in the jumpseat. Here I teach double clutching until the student understands the relationship of roadspeed and RPM and the required sympathies to the transmission. I came to this forum to learn or maybe to help. My best friend is an older tranny that still shifts like the day it was built. Entry level drivers on my watch learn about off road stuff, most of the oilfield is not near the big road, clean downshifting and a vigilant watch on the other guy that is paid on a percentage of the load.     Last spring brought a mud season to the nodak that was absolutely awesome. Trucks needed to get in to location and we got them in there by hook or crook. Some were driven in until stuck and hauled farther with graders and big cats ripping air lines and brake cans off as they went. While unloading, field mechanics would repair the problems as quickly as possible to make room for more loads of water sand or whatever was needed. Its something to see. I do have a couple of short clips that I will get on soon...

    Hello Everyone,

    I was wondering about a few questions on the big boom in the Oil Fields out in Texas, North Dakota even in Canada....

    What would the position be considered as (term/name of position held) for a newbie out in the fields with no experience? And what would it consist of?

    f anyone knows some particular companies that take on recent student grads,

    where can i get a job in an oil field as a driver or hauling water or sand with no driving experience. i'm just getting out from CDL school.. i know is very hard work. Lots of manual labor, lots of hours (70-100 per week) and very little time off. and u can make good money doing it...from $80k to 100K... that's what i have been told. is that true ?

    i tried scheneider..but they want me to relocated....i'm just looking for a company that i can work 3 or 4 weeks in a row and get 1 week off so i can go to my permanent addresse...

    Any answers of my questions would be much appreciated on this field. i'm all ears......Thanks

    How does a man break into the oil fields? Called a few and they need exp. I have 3 years local and otr but no tanker, but do have all my endorsements. Any ideas?
