Well, it sweetened up after I groaned to the powers that be. We were shafted on home time and had to take it because we needed the HAH....money. We had TWO good weeks of 4000 plus miles and two decent pay checks. We pulled off an impossible run for them and were turfed for two days and then it was back to the status quo. Crappy miles, switching PU times, delivery times, No empties, effed up paperwork, ect. So back to the same old same old.
My co driver and I met a driver in Knoxville named Matt. he said he did some light damage on a PAM truck, had one citation and PAM started treating him like dog doo, so he told them he was going to quit in two weeks. He starting raising hell and they gave him a regional job, home every night almost and weekends off. We have just recently met an eleven year man who is leaving soon. He said its finally hitting the top echelon of drivers. Bad miles, screw ups, new DM's every six weeks. I met a three year guy who just keeps hanging in there. He said "one week, great miles and pay, next week; garbage". We just had another bad PAM experience with an 1100 mile run they switched times on, didn't call us when they knew our Qualcomm was down, it was a comedy of errors and of course, we are the ones hauling this hot mess out west. It was a dedicated lane that they had been screwing up for five months (we found out from a DM on the side) and this was the last run. We were about 20% to blame for being sleep deficient and waking up an hour and a half late to pick up, but we had picked up late before and always got our shipments in on time, save one that was dispatched 24 HOURS LATE. It seems that the planners, CSR's are really screwed up. Logistics won't keep a few dedicated empties at the yards so the loads will not be late or messed up. So, here we sit 1200 miles from home turfed at a Pilot suffering the punishment that the whole team is liable for. The team manager who is a completely difficult and sarcastic piece of garbage chews me out, the one who was screwing up the lane does the same and I give it back to them. I know I will be called into the home office and "sat down", but I am not going to take the crap any more, IF that happens. I will wait for hometime and waltz. I informed my DM that on my "had enough stuff-o-meter" I was at about a nine and if things didn't change I was going to give my two weeks.
To all of you that post here impugning me for being stupid, a niave dolt, you were once that person too. Don't sit here and poke your finger into my chest. My posts and threads are to inform true seekers about a company that should not be invested in.
To all of you who add your spice here and your experience, thank you. To the grammar police, I say "check your own work". Looking forward to getting back into manufacturing or a regional, out two weeks and home company. Good luck to you all and as usual, CAVEAT EMPTOR and CAVEAT SIGNATOR.

    Everett and Lonesome Thank this.

Yea. What is it with the late dispatch for pickup? USA was doing that to me. I was on my way out of Chicago with a Bridgestone load. The Quallcom starts beeping like crazy. I was already filling in for a dedicated load. Can't be pulled off. They put three trips on there. Two were to be picked up the day before. I called them up and asked "which one of these late loads do you want delivered first". The guy just went "uuuuuhhhh". I mean these people in the office are smoking something. I wonder if they are tested.

A lot of this stuff happens by accident. I used to get assigned to loads like that all of the time. Sent loads to pickup when i was already on one, sent to pickup loads that needed to pickup the day before and delivered 700 miles away on the day I was on. When I got burned years ago, being sent empty to Montreal to pickup a load on a Saturday, my day off, and being told by the shipper we were supposed to be there on Friday and when a truck didn't show he put it on another carrier I smartened up. The shipper was nice about it and we both laughed but I was pretty angry. After that whenever I got a load with a messed up date I immediately called my dispatcher on it. If the delivery time was messed up I called not only the dispatcher who would tell me a new time had been made but also the customer to make sure it had been done. How many times did I hear from the customer that no-one called them? Tons. Big companies loose stuff in the translation. Its up to the driver to do the final check on this stuff.

In my last year with Pam they were notorious for that. Especially giving bogus pick up and delivery times. Got to the point where I called shipper and consignee on EVERY load to be sure of times.

Well, it happened again and what to do? Roll with it until finished. Have two good companies with their drivers telling me they are the real deal. Will go with them or head back to manufacturing.
