Why so nervous lil' buckaroo? You need to relax and take some deep breaths, its not as bad as you think and you should be doing it like a champ in no time.

 

GOAL when backing. take your time. dont let anyone rush you. always try to avoid blindside backing as much as possible, even if it means changing your aproach. sliding the tandems all the way to the rear of the trlr helps your clearance when you got to back btwn 2 trlrs. did i mention take your time?

 

Defiantly take your time. My first few times out I was nervous and didn't want to hit anything anytime I was unsure I got out and looked. Trucks were waiting behind me and getting impatient but some of the older drivers realized I was new and came out to help me so they could get in. Also listen to the older drivers that are willing to help you out they have some great advice that will make it easier. Never let anyone rush you on anything it's your career and your licence not theirs.

 

butterflies for the first few loads is gonna be there. Eventually, just start looking at it as a success in the making. You aren't really doing anything you haven't done already, just not with someone standing watching over you.

 

It's normal remember nothing fast happens in or around a truck. Don't let someone rush you, ever. Drive your truck as safely as you feel you can.

 

It is ok to be nervous. Helps you to be aware. Like everyone said, take your time, get out and look as many times as you need. Ignore the idiots and their comments, there are drivers that will assist gladly. Always remember you are pulling something very long, especially when turning!!

ALLOW ME is right, most people will help if they know your new and you just ask. Also, if you have a CB, trun it off while parking or just backing into a hole.. This keeps the jerks from making you more nervous. Follow the advice others have given on here. RELAX, TAKE A DEEP BREATH, TAKE YOUR TIME, DONT LET OTHERS RUSH YOU, GOAL AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED.
