My state charges $100 for the filing fee and a minimum annual corporate tax of $100. They also require that I file an annual report which costs $20. Did you use an attorney to file your paperwork to get to the $800? If not, that is a lot of money. Most states are around $100-200.

Seriously...please call and speak to Rocco Davanzo. He needs to know why we lose good BCO prospects so he can fix the problems.

I believe that Landstar uses an outside vendor to check out potential BCO's. It takes way too long to get an approval. I have a good friend who sent in his application. He waited for several weeks and finally got fed up and went to another carrier. It is a shame. I don't see whey it should take so long to get approved or denied when you apply. Perhaps they are deluged with applications. The people who do the checking don't really seem to get in a hurry and are not very good at keeping applicants informed as to their progress. I have spoken to several who decided to not go with Landstar due to the length of time. Most carriers can check out potential owner operators in a day or so. I don't understand whey it should take so long with Landstar. They lose a lot of good people.

I was wondering i started the process around last august had some complications with the truck which we finally got worked out informed the recruiter that we would be delayed due to the complications in completing the application process now we are ready to continue, my question will we have to start every thing over or can we pick up where we left off. I am planning on contacting the recruiter on the 15th to get the ball rolling again, i sent an email about mid feb but havent recieved any correspondence back from them.
