Based on the number of thanks SHC has gotten you might want to re think doing this in the future. And I believe he stated the facts the guy couldn't walk, talk or think straight. I say he did the right thing.

Again, who cares if someone has a couple of ####tails in their offtime. If you plan on "getting your drink on" then why not save that for hometime? You could also rent a motel room for your 34 and go party a little also. This way no one will get the wrong idea about your possible intentions. There are several companies that have a zero tolerance policy and for good reason. Think about if SHC didnt step up and call. That guy might have gotten in the truck and slept it off or he might have gotten in and drove. If you dont want someone in your business then dont make a dang fool of yourself in public.

In my opinion as a former Corrections Officer who dealt with drunks and the drunk tank it usually takes longer for the alcohol to leave your system than the 10 break.

Let me point out that calling the LEO was not my 1st thought. If the guy was able to get into his truck, I most likely would have helped him out and taken the keys and put my glad hand lock on his trailer. And after my 10hrs was up I would have seen if he had sobered up. But once I realized I could not make any sense to this driver I did the next thing I could. Sure I still feel bad about what happened, but if I had let it go and done nothing like most people, it would have bothered me even more.
I'm not out here to be a whistle blower, and to be honest I am more old school than people twice my age. I lend a hand at every opportunity that presents itself. This time I was left with only 1 viable option.Mommas_money_maker, Okieron and shriner75 Thank this. -
Personal choice is personal choice. No one would have ruined anyone's carrier except the driver that drank. Why put this off on any body else other than the person that is truly responsible - the driver that took a drink when they legally couldn't.Mommas_money_maker, SHC and bbblotliz Thank this.

I've never understood the mentality of cops being the Antichrist. Like brokers, not all cops are bad. Every profession has its douchebags, but for the most part, cops are good people. I know if you are genuine, respectful, and professional, you'll more than likely get off with a warning or the opportunity to fix a problem.
It once again comes back to what I've said time and again here at TTR, life and success are all about relationships. -
Umm Ok what color is your truck /

Are you not allowed to have a drink at a bar if you plan on sleeping for 10 hours?

No. You're not allowed to be. Drivers do it, but you're not allowed to legally.
