Has anybody here ever worked (driven ) for CH Robinson ?

My husband just started his own trucking company in oct. of 2011 and we are now a carrier for ch robinson and they are one of the best companies he hauls for. alan out of Littler Rock , ar. is the broker we use and he is the best at getting my husband Robert his loads.

 

CH Robinson is the largest brokerage in the world. It would be extremely rare to find any carrier that hasn't hauled at least some of their freight. If they were so bad to work with carriers would not continue to work with them. Some freight is cheap, but they do have good paying freight as well. It is really no different than any other brokerage. You still need to hone your negotiating skills. They are in business to make money. If you have poor negotiating skills and are willing to haul cheap freight, you can find loads at CH Robinson or any number of brokers. If you can learn to negotiate well then you can find better paying loads with most brokers. There are brokers who do seem to have more than their share of cheap freight. UTI comes to mind. But, you don't have to haul the cheap freight. This is a supply and demand business. If there is plenty of cheap freight available, you can blame the owner operators and carriers who haul it, not the broker. Carriers determine rates, not brokers or shippers. When a load is tendered the rate will rise until someone takes it. When that happens the rate is set. That doesn't necessarily mean that another carrier can't get a better rate, but it can make it more difficult.

 

i have for 4 months sofar i have a 75% good opinion about them. some reps are very rude other are quite nice but they do pay abit low
