Rifle marksmanship,, can't put a motorcycle in the truck with me so my M-1 Garand gets the nod pc enough to take with me but keep it locked up and ammo locked up as well ,where I cannot find a place to shoot dry fire keeps me in practis ,,best I have done with it so far was @ whittington center (raton NM ) 17 inch group @ 1000 yards (1.7 M,O,A)(as long as 10 football fields) shooting from prone with a loop sling just a military style shooting jacket and a work glove on the support hand ,,also do valunteer work as an Instructor teaching Rifle marksmanship & American history about the day of and leading upto April 19 1775 the how and the why of it (lexington and concord & the retreat of the brit army, the shot heard round the world) My m-1 is not a match grade Rifle it is just well built and the ammo was just Korean surplus m-2 ball best it will do with that ammo is 1.7 moa

 

I'd love to see that watchman.... That's some good shooting.

With a gun that's not known for being over 2 moa and ammo that's regular 3+moa.

Especially since the M2 ball isn't know to go past 900 yards without tumbling.

 

I have an Xbox 360 and about 2 months ago I got a guitar and am learning (slowly) to play it. My father in law has played his entire life and gives me pointers when I am home. Other then that its the internet reading or just loafing around.

Rifle m-1 Garand reciever date 1945 barrle date 1965 looked like new when I got it trigger group shimed up for lock up barrle splines penned so the gas tube fits on tight (front sight is on said gas tube ) the group out of 10 shots one called pulled 2 blowed out by wind change between looking at windage flags and sqeezing off the shot remaining 7 that I called good 17 inch group,,ammo Korean surplus head stamp KA 73 singaly loaded slow fire heat from the chamber can change the point of impact by as much as 1 moa @ 1000 yards thats 10 inches gamed by finding out 6 foot wide target backer looks about as wide as front sight @ 1000 yards black of d prone target is like a little fuzzy dust spect (19 inches by 26 inches) had to rest eyes between shots ,,,, would like very much to shoot with another that has same intrest while on the road do you run out west very often ? don't know all that many 1000 yard ranges we could get to out east . wish I had my data book with me from when I chronyed some of these rounds but its at home in my reloading room with the chrony .
