Tigger, u would know if u met us. I'm a big ole girl who sports a red sc hat. And Amie is also heavy set with glasses. She tends to be alot more soft spoken. Can't wait to met u guys. But I'm sure we will run across each other one of these day.
-
Ok Tigger and or Spat:
Question: yesterday when I was at the shippers I ran out of drive time. And my 14 hours where also up. Now if I'm out of time on my 14 hours I can still do my post trip I just can't drive correct??? I say yes my trainer says no. I know I'm right but I thought I'd see of u guys knew. Ima call safety later to prove to him but wanted to see what u guys would say.

I don't think you can because you have to run the clock 16 minutes on duty for a post trip. Remember though, a post trip is not DOT required, just a pre trip. I'll ask Spat when he gets back to the truck though though

In a way that is kool, but I would suggest keeping your head up. Talk and joke with the trainers, make friends with and help te students out when you can, be happy and social. They like to see that and it will make the whole experience much MUCH better. Greg, Connie, Ed, Anthony, Mark etc. they're all human just like you and can always use a good laugh; the students are all just as nervous and can use the encouragement. Plus it helps YOU stay positive when you are feeling down. Summary: just enjoy it and be open to everything they teach you! =D

I went through Steven's school and was in the top-20% and flunked out on the residential parallel parking because I couldn't park without brushing the curb which in Garland Tx. is an automatic failure. I also went to FFE Pinebluff school and was set home due to their lack of OTR trainers! FFE said they would call us back...but they didn't.

You are correct. After 14 you cannot drive but you CAN be on duty. only use that time for a post trip. Dont forget it is still chewing on your 70.
-
Oh, ok! Good to know!
-
trainer needs a refreser one stuff sound like. YES you can do you post trip after you are out of dri ve hours and your 14. the rule is you can not DRIVE more the 11 hours in a 14 hour period. you can still work. you can stay on duty 24/7 all kinds of stuff as long as you go off duty or sleeper for 10 before you move the truck. is your driver a new trainer?
-
Thanks Spat, school ur trainee. He is a bit hard headed.
Tigger, no he is not a new trainer however he is that type of driver that does things this way not that way. So he tends to forget it can b done other ways. We r heading to the yard to drop this load so we r going to walk n and ask safety together. Cause he still won't listen to me. I guess my 4 + years of Otr hasn't all left my head.
drive & ride safe guys. Thanks again
