i wasnt bashing the company, i was INFORMING potential new May Drivers of something that may and DOES cause drivers to get pissed and leave may when they get a bill. I dont know much of anything about the rest of the company, but things like this shouldnt be "hinden" from new drivers. And i agree the guys that idle 24/7 are idiots but that doesnt mean good drivers should have to sweat because of idiots...they just need to fire the idiots.

sky king Thanks this.

In all fairness, there's no way a new driver can comprehend how idling percentages even work in practical ways.

Yea I remember when I went to May orientation a couple driver walked out when they brought up the charge for over idle. And they raised the idle percentage because of driver retention. When they told the guy I signed on at May he could no longer take his ca regional loads by the house and would have to sit on them for the weekend he said bye bye.
I get a kick out of these newbies and numptys who are willing to stick up for a company like May. They haul Dry grocery frt and you give there cust 4 hrs for free and have no APU's and slow trucks. They have lots of short runs that are complete time wasters and you have to shut a load down to get the cheapo's to pay for a truck wash.
There yard in Wa and Fontana and PHX where a total joke especially for the newbies that would come in there and tear up equipment.
Bottom of the barrel customers like Supervalu, safeway, Albertsons Jeld Wen and GP all time wasters.
I did like the office staff but who wants to pull 8 to 10 loads a week to get avg miles?
If you really want to stick up for May then post your actual W2 wages. Just black your name ans SS Because I know what drivers where making back when I worked there and at .37 a mile that i was getting it was laughable, and they cut the pay since then.
Sure there are worse company's out there but not by much. It's just a happy to have a job outfit now -

I made 39k last yr first yr in the industry. I don't care if I'm hauling poop or if I'm hauling gold who cares who the customers are I get good miles what kind of argument is that.
Southpaw7391 and anj8488 Thank this. -

I'm finding another reason for some type of APU; "no idle" states. Watched a trooper giving citations today at a travel oasis here in New Jersey for idling... Now I'm stuck at one until tomorrow; hope the batteries hold out...
