Grabbed the brand new shiny 2012 volovo didn't ya. ... What are they clipping you for that?
Oh, and did you bother to run a ROI model before you leased or did you just buy into the hot dog stand business model of trucking??? -
Technically, they aren't lying. They do have solo's that have figured out how to make it work, even long-term....
Maybe it's by training part time or just by hiring a second seat here and there, I dunno.
What I'd like to know is if you were in the red for practically the whole time while being there, why didn't you turn the truck back in to them three months ago?
If I were leasing by myself and wasn't making any money, I would've gotten out of it a lot sooner before going deeper and deeper in the hole. -
How is the freight? What fleet are you in? Are you handling the customer service side? Maybe you should get a student, get back in the black, and then start looking around. I have been solo with England and struggled but made a positive check, home time is the killer if not properly planned for.

i seem to be reading more and more post like this lately, weather it from CR or Swift or May...
but their has to be people making it work or they wouldn't be as popular as they are, and by making it work i don't mean getting rich but still they can pay their bills and such is it just bad planning or your part or what is it? -
Dewy ... how often do you go home and how long do you stay?
-
Well since my truck is paid off I am out 3 weeks then go home for 4 days.
-
How long did it take to pay off your truck? Are you a trainer, or run as a team? In my opinion CRE is a training company, and if you want it to work for you, you need to work with the system.
-
Yes I had to train the first two years I was with CRE. I would usually have a student for 30-45 days then go on home time.
Once I made the down payment it took me 58 weeks to pay off the tractor completely. Now I am thinking about buying a second tractor and becoming a fleet owner. I actually work for England Logistics handling container loads. The freight is always there and about 80% drop/hook. -
I guess CRE is alot like other companies if you can get through that first year it gets better. I find it interesting that you can become a fleet owner.
