When I went through my IFTA/IRP audit, they said if I didn't pay the fines promptly, they would put a lien on my equipment titled in FL. This might have been the type of issue, or it could be as simple as a mechanic's lien.

The DMV can put a lien on a vehicle for multiple reasons....failure to pay state income tax, failure to pay IFTA for said state, failure to pay child support, the list goes on and on !!!!

Exactly my point, SHC. I hear tell they can suspend your CDL for non-payment of child support !

    BigBadBill and SHC Thank this.

Absolutely they can. Any state or federal license they can suspend for child support.

    SHC Thanks this.

Wanted to Thank everyone for their responses. Also wanted to give an update. Called OOIDA and all they said to do was call the Attorney General. Not trying to be a Blow Hard or anything else. Just want it made right.
Select Trucks redid all of the paperwork yesterday March 12th. The Lien has been lifted on Friday March 9th. So everything is as it was from day one. Warranty, Payment Date, and a new Lesson about Financing and getting all of the facts myself before Ever signing paperwork.
This is what they are saying happened. The driver who leased the truck from Crossroads which is the leasing side of Select Trucks. He wrote CA. a bad check on his CA IRP plate, and DMV put a lien on the truck. With the fees and penalities the total came to $4435.00. Select Trucks negoiated the fine and then paid it off. The funny thing about this mess is that the same drive has a new lease with Crossroads and they know exactly where he is. And they will cancel his lease unless he pays this fine.
So once again Thank You for everyones input. Be safe

Makes sense, since DMV accepts checks and gives you your plates etc before depositing the check.

^^^^ Not in CT. Has to be a certified check for new plates or renewal.
