I know this is an old post/thread ...

But it seems the worst ones never "die" ... just linger on - under new ownership. :biggrin_25526:

All I have to say is stay away! This company does not care to put drivers in unsafe equipment and put them on the road. I had this done to me, My maden voyage with the company. I checked the truck out really well brakes, lights, tires, and under hood. The motor look exceptionally clean to me so I asked the shop supervisor about the maintence. His words to me" that truck just had a head gasket replaced so we steamed the motor." So I left it at that and took my load, thank god it was a short one. 50 Miles from the yard something went terribly wrong, started looseing power at throttle every time I hit a bump in the road short in the dash and when I delivered I noticed a very bad oil leak starting from the motor. I called it in they said they did not care and they would try and get me back to the yard. I sat for 8 hours waitng on them to give me an answer. The whole time they were trying to load the truck back to the yard with me telling them it may not make it there under its own power. To make a long story short I finally got back to the yard bobtail. Upon takeing it through the inspection bay the computer was fried, front seal was bad, cracked head, and bad head gasket. The inspection mechaninc then told me he recognized the truck, he was told to use brake cleaner on the entire motor and put it back on the line. Thats when I decided that I had enough and left the company. I hope some of this maybe helpful to drivers considering this company.

I don't seem to have a lot of other options at the moment so I've submitted my app with them. They're not my first choice, but I have to take what I can get right now.

I just want/need to stick it out for 6 mos to a year and build my resume. Despite what I've read on here I've had NO luck finding a regional, local job with a reputable company. If anyone has any idea's I'm all ears.

I did write the recruiter an e-mail asking about the age and quality of their equipment, since I'm sure I'll only be told the truth I'll post the reply.

Let us know what they tell you. I see some units have not aged so gracefully...

"Super Service is committed to providing top quality equipment for its drivers. Over 40% of our fleet is less than 6 months old, and we are on track to replace 250 units yearly. New models include Freightliner Cascadias, and Volvo VNs"

    Here's the reply I got:

    Hi John,

I'd be happy to answer your question! Right now we have a fleet size of 1300 vehicles, half of those are 2011 models and the other half are 2007 and newer models. We run Freightliner Cascadia's, Volvo VN's, International ProStar's and we do have a few Kenworth's in the mix as well. Super Service is working to upgrade our older model fleet within the next year. Coming in as a new student it is very likely that we will have give you one of the older model vehicles to start, with this being said Super Service is working to upgrade our older model vehicles within the next year and as they begin to upgrade you will be placed into a newer vehicle. We do also have pay incentives for driving an older high mileage vehicle, those are:

    Miles Pay Increase
    700,000 - 799,999 $0.01 cpm
    800,000 - 899,999 $0.02 cpm
    900,000 + $0.03 cpm

At the begining was nice because was a lot of drop and hook...but then...i worked for them 3 months(got my 1st $500 bonus,,,500 more in 6 mos and 1000 when 1 year of employement offered)...my dm was pompous, arrogant and irresponsable and i have to talk to the fleet manager(very good person)to change it...When i came back from home time(with a nice, clean trailer)going to pick up a load,he told do a yard check in a Target DC...there were several empties and 2 broken...he told me to drop my trailer and p/u one without a door...i tought"is ok.i'll be paid for this"...i was 2 whole days with the freaking trailer going to one shop to another,,,then after a week i noticed i was not paid for that,i talk to the DM...he says don't worry i gonna pay you,,,it took me one month to get paid for that...he said he don't pay for time spended to fix a trailer...i had to talk to the fleet manager(Mr Steve Cash)and expain the whole story...name of that guy Bryan Perry
